This may explain it, from T-P today. All about moola, apparently, although it does not say 100% that it is the reason why he was cut. More than two dozen with ties to the New Orleans Saints invested in movie studio deal - New Orleans Saints Beat
Washington Redskins take Jeremy Jarmon in NFL supplemental draft - NFL - SI.com Redskins take DE Jeremy Jarmon which will cost them a 3rd round pick next year which isnt that bad.
I am really excited to hear this. We need a bruiser to hit in between the tackles, and at least now we have a back that can fit that mold. Also takes a little pressure off Bush not having to take on that role so much.
Regarding the defense being improved or not, I am definitely in the Gregg Williams camp. I believe he will do a bang up job and you will see a much improved defense on the field. The Saints will win a minimum of 10 games and the sky is the limit depending on just how much better the defense is. I think the Saints go into this season the best team in the NFC.
ESPN's NFC South blogger held a readers' poll to select the division's All-Decade team. Joe Horn, Jammal Brown and Jeff Faine were selected, along with Reggie Bush as the return specialist. Delhomme narrowly beat out Brees. Deuce placed second at tailback to Warrick Dunn LeCharles Bentley got votes at center (along with Todd McClure, Tiger fans), and William Roaf got a few sentimental votes. No Saints defensive players were mentioned. NFC South - ESPN
On Malcolm Jenkins' holdout: Saints continue work in Jenkins absence | HoumaToday.com | The Courier | Houma, LA Dogra can get the 13th and 15th picks into camp on time, but can't get anything done with number 14?
Apparently Malcolm Jenkins was playing with the first string defense at nickleback. Not bad for a kid who just joined the team last Monday. During the evening session, he picked off a Matt Schaub pass and returned it 70 yards.
Bobby McCray....roving elephant: New Orleans Saints bring back 3-4 defense, and Jonathan Vilma's all for it | New Orleans Saints Central - - NOLA.com I think this could be the beginning of a fan identity for McCray.
I love McCray he is fastly becoming one of my favs....EVENthough he gets up after a big play and does the Gator Chomp thingy
Good article here on how Payton is maturing as a head coach: New Orleans Saints Coach Sean Payton shows maturity regarding kicker situation: Jeff Duncan | New Orleans Saints Central - - NOLA.com Remember two years ago, Saints hosting Bucs? Trying to protect a slim lead in the 4th, SP called a reverse on 3rd and short. He took a lot of heat after Bush and Henderson flubbed the exchange, TB recovered the fumble and drove for the game winning score. The following week at Atl, 1st offensive series and on the first play, Payton called the same reverse from our own 20. It seemed like a childish slap at his critics to me....but it appears he's growing into the job. We've got one of the best in the business now.
