Hey Garlic, you obviously didn't read the previous posts. LSU will have only 4 scholarships to give out next year, not 33. :hihi: Here's another stab at the potential breakdown: QB - 1 RB - 2 or 3 OL - 2 WR - 2 or 3 DL - 4 LB - 3 or 4 DB - 2 There is your 16-19 potential recruits.
Miles always seems to steal 1-2 tight ends, whether we need them or not. nah, your projections look about right. Maybe 2 QBs, but outside of that, it looks good.
Hey istl, obviously you didnt read my entire post. I think the coaches will find 19-21 schollies maybe more If you look at my breakdown its at 19. I appreciate you expert advice.
My Dream Recruiting class using islsti/Clair/Parso thoughts QB(2) - Russell Shepard (maybe earier with Gibbert commiting w/TX), Morgan Newton or AJ McCarron RB(2or3) - Michael Ford, Christian Michael, Eddie Lacy WR(2) - Rueben Randle, Kraig Appleton (sleeper: Willie Jefferson) OL(3) - John Martinez, Chris Faulk. Nick Hawkins DL(4) - Chris Davenport,Darrington Sentimore, Quinton Dial, Jamarkus McFarland LB(4) - Nico Johnson,Tana Patrick , Jarvis Jones, Tahj Jones CB(2) - Dre Kirkpatrick, Craig Loston Thats around 20 leaves us w/ room to hop on some more local kids or a late interest/fast rising recruit. We will probably be very picky and nothing but high quality 4 or 5* unless they feel someone is underrated.
Dont forget ATH Montrell Conner. He could project at a few positions, but I think he will play either S or LB, depending on how big he gets.
Right now, Connor is a bruising RB with good speed. There was an injury about midway through his Soph year to the starting RB at Ouachita (can't remember the kids name) and that's when Connor got his shot. He has been carrying the load for the Lions ever since. I remember listening to several games on the radio that year, and those guys were all goo-goo over him. Connor is the best prospect to come out of Ouachita since Jameion Spencer (who played for ND) class of '95. This kid is REALLY good. RB, LB, S makes me no difference. I just want to see him in Purple & Gold. :crystal::geaux::crystal::geaux::crystal:
I've read alot about him recently. Seems like a real good LB prospect. You'll see Miles make offers to more prospects now as Junior Day approaches.
When do the complete player rankings for 2009 come out? Louisiana looks to have loads of talent for the next year. I bet that winning the NC will help us in 2009, especially secure the top ranked in-state talent that we want/need. Let's hope we lock many of them up early. 2009's class could be special. Total signees will be lower, but I can really see us coming away w/ 4-5 5 Star recruits. Our program can sell itself, and who doesn't like LES FRIKKIN MILES??? Add those into the mix of extremely talented kids already on the team, and the incoming 2008 class. The future of LSU football looks BRIGHT!!!! It's great to be on top!!! Now let's stay there!!! :crystal::geaux::crystal::geaux::crystal:
