Next week I'll start looking at the '09 class harder. Right now, all I really know about are the elite Louisiana guys and a couple other near-by recruits.

As for the numbers game, right now I believe we only have about 17 scholarships for next year so we're going to need some attrition (always happens - the question is how much), and we also have to consider that if we grayshirt anybody from this class they will take away from the scholarships available next year. Right now, I think we're looking at a smaller class of about 22, with some non-qualifiers. Since Rivals & Scout rank based on total recruits & not on a per star average, we probably won't be competing for the #1 spot overall.

Louisiana is loaded for '09 at the top, which means that Rivals will probably do a much better job of evaluating the state as a whole.

RB - Keiland & Scott will be JR's next year, with Richard Murphy a sophmore & *hopefully* Jermaine Thomas a freshman. I say 2 RBs.

The rest of the list looks good to me.

Texas has a guy very similar to Sheppard that plays WR & QB, can't remember his name. Most of the time these guys want a shot at playing QB, and if Texas is willing to do it but we aren't that would obviously decrease our chances. I'm not sure that we don't see him as a QB though.

Apparently our coaches are very high on McCarron & feel pretty good about our chances, but I don't think we can feel confident about getting anybody out of Alabama right now.

Karam's family is all-LSU & will be ours if we want him, but some have questioned his height.

Ok. I'll acknowlege it. You guys are the best at this (unless you're just cut and pasting others lists). All this player introspection is just way too much for me. I just want to know where I can get a good cornbeef sandwich. :D

That and where does a guy get a name like Jawanza?

I remember reading that he got arrested earlier in the year, and from what I've heard I don't expect him to get an offer (grades/personality).

I don't know what his measurables are but I don't think he will end up at LSU. I watched him play and he was good, but I don't think he is an SEC type back. He plays for Brother Martin in New Orleans by the way. He didn't look that big or fast to me. Yes he is Dalton's son, and I was a fan of Dalton at LSU and with the Saints, but I don't think his son will be as great a player as his dad--hopefully he will do well though.

from watching him on the TV show he looked quiet and wouldn't expect that but you never know. IMO D.Johnson from Destrahan is better than him right now I know this was his first year at W.Monroe so he'll probably get better.Any reason why we just now offered R.Randle?

We just don't generally offer Jr's real early. We want them to come to Jr. Day first.

If we don't get Thomas, we will definitely pick up three. It all has to do with the number we can sign. If we are looking at 24 rather than 20, then we get 3 RBs, even with Thomas.
