I think our national title is giving us a boost in recruiting this year. We already have 3 out of state guys from Fla, Tex and GA. I think we are in the hunt with a lot of players from out of state because of the title and the exposure we had in the national spotlight last year. I don't really remember if the number of out of state players of this quality this early is an oddity or not, but I would think it is. Can someone with a better memory please enlighten me? I do know that we seem to be making more headway recruiting in FLA and GA over the last few years.
LSU seems to be taking a different approach this year, as we've never started off this hot this early - regardless of in-state vs out of state.
crazy recruiting season....last year we jump all over this dude this year....cherry picking at its finest
we have made no move on this guy as of yet, which is a bit perplexing, unless he has told our coaches "no thanks" early on Shepard coming to LSU changes things of course, since they are cousins, but they don't seem to be that close, so the effect may be minimal Loston indicates he will end this fairly soon (by end of April I would guess). Which makes it that much tougher for LSU if we have made no headway up until now.
I thought that he was in the process of setting up a visit. Does he make it to JR day in April? If he does, you have to expect that to help especially if Shepard comes.
If Shepard comes as well, which I would expect, then yes that would be somewhat significant. Loston has expressed that his recruiting is totally independent of what Shepard does and just made it sound like they are not that close. We shall see.
