Hello to the regulars on TigerForums, I'm an active lurker - perfering to read what people with more time than I have to say about LSU. (Don't take that as a put down, you guys are great!) But I ran across some information that I thought you guys would be interested in knowing. I work very close to a family member of Robert "Lil Rob" Walker from Mamou. And she came into work today all excited talking about him. It seems Dandy Don called him up last night and did an interview with him. But more importantly than that - She said yesterday he ran a 4.28 in the 40. TWICE!! They actually timed him, didn't believe he ran as fast as he did and timed him again. I don't know if this was by hand or automatic but either way this kid is FAST! She did say that he's been contacted by LSU and N.C. (as well as a few other schools), but before I even asked "What schools is he most interested in?", she headed me off with "He's got no idea where he wants to go." But from what I understand he's a family guy. He's also said that he plans on never going back to Mamou again. He wants to go to "The City". So I really do believe that he's confused. I'm afraid that with the limited scholarships this year he won't make it on the LSU team. Wherever he goes though, he's going to be a great RB. He's got Trindon's speed but about 4" in height on him.
Don't know if I can buy a sub 4.3 time. His name would be out there even he ran sub 4.4. Sub 4.3 is almost unheard of. That's world class speed. In fact some guys with word class speed can't run sub 4.3.
I'm taking it with a grain of salt. But keep in mind that this happened yesterday. I have no doubt that he's sub 4.4 though. It could very well be that it was clocked by hand and they simply clicked it early. It could be that the track was really fast yesterday. I don't even know what other students times were, to compare and see if it was the people clocking it or not. I do know that he ran super fast yesterday, to the point that those who were clocking didn't believe that they did it correctly and timed him again. On a side note though, his name is out there. He's not an unheard of recruit. Like I said Dandy Don was interviewing him just the other day and Other schools have been after him for awhile now too. Not saying he's a 5* or a world class recruit that LSU would be stupid not to go after. Just saying he's fast like grease lightning.
Not necessarily, recruits could run a 4.19 40, if there grades are wack you'll never hear of them. For 1 they'll never play a full 4 years in HS. But this guy Walker. http://rivals100.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?pr_key=72597 Is said to have ran a 4.7 40..But that could be old time. I can tell you one thing, his SPARQ rating 93.06 is higher than Micheal Ford's 91.94 , and thats saying something.
Agree and it has to be an old time. I've seen him and he is stupid fast and a great kid/great family. I know he won't be offered by LSU cause of his size and we already have TH. Having two small scat backs wouldn't serve us well, in light of the big picture. I know the North Carolina ass't coach who first received his film went nuts. He's a former college roomy with a good friend of mine. I left a message for one of the coaches who works there to give me a ring to get some clarification on his time (Conditions, etc) I'll let you know when I find out but we have a softball tourn this weekend so I may not be around too much. Funny thing about this fact is that two of them were spotted while film was being looked at on the other. Good example of how some kids get missed, don't get the big ratings. They did not attend camps and get recognition. (The first three, initially, anyway. They may have after and I'm not sure about lil Rob). John's only in his second year as Hd. coach there but I believe he is a great fit for the program and a hard working, non nonsense guy.
