Rivals does have a system for every scenario and I assume they will tweak it as the years go by. If you have a smaller class each recruit you get is worth a LOT more points than larger classes. The larger classes were only gaining 6 or 7 points for a top 100 player on signing day where as the small classes would get 100+ or so for a similar guy. While it is still an inexact science there is a plan to not screw any team based on size.
It is in the formula. The points per player is determined by class and position size, in relation to the points rivals gave him.
I think TB3 is correct from what I have witnessed. What I didn't understand was when Lavar Edwards committed to LSU, we were deducted 4 points from our total, although we didn't have a big D-line class. Did they consider this a non-need position for LSU this year? And I assume since he was recruit #25 that factored into it also? I guess I can't understand someone actually detracting from your overall total points.
Lots of teams lost points at the end which I thought was weird. But I think it was because once he was added the value of another players went down due to his position.
But he left out the part about the chicken blood and a half-naked lady with a wierd headdress dancing around a fire with her eyes rolled back into her head. So his explanation was incomplete.
