Re: Montrell Conner is a Tiger! I would assume your best athlete plays on both sides of the ball. Someone should be able to confirm he does indeed play LB on defense.
Re: Montrell Conner is a Tiger! Small numbers on the roster/lack of depth also often necessitates many of the starters play both ways in high school.
Re: Montrell Conner is a Tiger! From what I know Conner may move back to linebacker this year. Ouachita is planning on going back to the spread this year since they got some stud quarterback who moved in over the fall. Conner in my opinion isn't a spread type back and since Carr wants to go back to the spread they might as well put him where he once was. He played linebacker his sophmore year and did so sparingly his freshman year. He looked great his sophmore year, but moved to running back around the 5th game of his sophmore year. Ouachita has a great freshman back who will be a sophmore next year along with some other really good backs that fit more into the spread. I personally want to see him move back to defense. I hate the I formation and I love the spread attack Ouachita had 2 years ago. I hope the move goes like I heard. Ouachita has a lot of weapons next year so I understand the move, both for the team and for conner. We'll see if it goes through or not. I'll keep ya'll informed once spring training comes around at the end of April.
Re: Montrell Conner is a Tiger! Oh, and be on the lookout for an up and coming cat from Ouachita who will be playing receiver this year. He is only a freshman right now and he is 6'5 205. His name escapes me, but I heard they will either put him at receiver or outside linebacker. He is an absolute beast. Also, Carroll has a freshman linebacker named Aaron Brown who is 6'3 225 and is fast as lighting. On the local radio show here in Monroe, 97.7 ESPN, they mentioned how he is already getting major looks. He is a phenom. So the talent here in North Louisiana is going to continue to be great.
Re: Montrell Conner is a Tiger! Great news Northern LA always has some great talent but I'm going to have to go see that WR.
