Re: Montrell Conner is a Tiger! So word is that everything is fine between the Conner camp and the LSU camp, and that he will take some time to decide. I still think it will be much sooner than later. I am sure the kid wants to be a Tiger, and that's where he will end up.
Re: Montrell Conner is a Tiger! He never had an offer from what a coach told me. He does now, and he will decide hopefully sooner than later. The only reason why I wish LSU would get him is because we need a big back who can mix it up when we go to an I formation. I realize Crowton likes the spread and that is fine, but let's get a big back that can also pound at the opposing team and doesn't tire out. Conner never tires out, in tremendous shape and if we get him and Ford and Lipscomb!!!!!!!!!!1 Good Lordy that would be a beast. What is awesome is the fact that Conner is up to 225-30 and has actually gotten faster. 4.4 this kid will be 5-star once summer camps roll around. That size with his height and speed is awesome.
Re: Montrell Conner is a Tiger! Some dude named Ridley will be taking over those duties for the next 4 years. Conner will be playing LB, and hopefully dominating the position.
Re: Montrell Conner is a Tiger! Yes. This guy was amazing to watch. I was a teacher in the Moss Point system at the time, so was a little biased about what I thought he could be. Turns out, I was wrong. <<<< Not a reliable scout of college level talent. Moral of the story: we all have our biases.
Re: Montrell Conner is a Tiger! God that was an awesome game! I think West Monroe ended up ranked #7 nationally that year, while MP finished #17. (Going from memory.)
Re: Montrell Conner is a Tiger! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Damarius_Bilbo "High school Bilbo attended Moss Point High School in Moss Point, Mississippi and was a letterman in football and baseball. In football, he was named the Dick Butkus Football Network National High School Player of the Year and Mississippi Player of the Year by USA Today and Gatorade. In baseball, he garnered All-State honors. [edit] College Football He had a medical redshirt in 2001 (broken thumb) and played backup quarterback in 2002. He was relegated to wide receiver upon Reggie Ball's admittance to the Institute in 2003,[1][2] but found success at that position, starting all 12 games his senior season and was invited to the Hula Bowl all-star game. Bilbo graduated in 2006 with a degree in management. [edit] NFL He was undrafted in the 2006 NFL Draft, but was signed as a free-agent by the Arizona Cardinals. He was released by the Cardinals in preseason, but immediately signed by the Dallas Cowboys. He was cut from the roster but signed to the practice squad. He helped the Cowboys prepare for their week 4 meeting with the Tennessee Titans by simulating Vince Young in practice. He was cut from the squad in mid-October in favor of ex-Seattle Seahawks Jerheme Urban. He was re-signed to the Cowboys practice squad in mid-December and coach Parcells has plans of moving him to safety due to his athleticism. He was released by the Dallas Cowboys again on September 2, 2007."
Re: Montrell Conner is a Tiger! One of the big misconceptions about Crowton is that he is a spread guy. One of the great things about him is he likes to mix it up and see what works. Our offense last year was the most versatile I've ever seen from an LSU team, we did about every scheme and formation known to man at some point in the season. And with Miles as HC we'll always see some smash mouth football.
