I agree, I think the staff at UT can recruit really well.. It's not like UT is chump change as an SEC foe, or national school for that matter.. They just spent millions updating their super large stadium that overlooks the river, looks awesome IMO...Tennessee is a beautiful place... They have some tradition.. This staff is super aggressive

I think Lane Kiffin is over his head starting out in the this league.. But Al Davis gave him a shot with the Raiders...Because his dad is Monte Kiffin, I am sure he is football savy...but can he lead a program? That's what HC's do, they lead like a politician more than they actually coach..

Knoxville is probably a lot closer to home for Brown as well than is UM, O, or LSU.. i think he ends up there, the Vols are confident...I think they got this one

That's my guess at this point as well.

    So it shall be.

I hope he signs with LSU, but if he doesn't ... so what. We'll sign a big fast highly rated RB (like Pratt) this year and the next, and next, etc. I don't think we'll be short on RB's because LSU is poised as a team to be a top flight team in the SEC just like it has been. There's no reason to believe otherwise. We'll be very attractive to star RB's who want to be in the national spotlight for years to come. :crystal::crystal::crystal:...:crystal:
Next!! Just remember to bet the over when LSU, Florida and Bama play Tennessee. :hihi:.

    Maybe they bought more instead...

Tennessee is where I expect him to sign.

    Actually, they kinda are.

It's been forever since they were relevant. And really, does Kiffin actually strike anyone as being made of the timber required to lead a program back to prominence? If the guy has goofed up as bad and as frequently as he has before he's even coached a game, what makes anyone think that he will suddenly pull his head out of his a$$ when the season rolls around? He's an immature, rash little brat that will constantly be shooting from the hip. And I fully expect his tenure in the SEC to be brief and disastrous.

So, being two years removed from the SEC title game is irrelevant? Give me a break. Jesus, I'd hate to see your standards, most teams would dream to just get to their conference title game. While I agree Fulmer was underachieving, Tennessee still was a great program before this year. Its not like they were a cream puff that Florida/Georgia/LSU/Auburn could knock over easy. Don't kid yourself, Tennessee has been national recognized since at least their NC over ten years ago. Plus, Tennessee has played in arguably the harder side of the conference in the East. LSU has had it easier compared to the East over recent years. Tennessee, Georgia, Florida were all great programs with SC and Kentucky being decent. LSU has had Auburn as competition on this side and that is about it over recent years. Arkansas has put together some decent teams but the top of the East was definitely stronger than the West before this year. Ole Piss and MSU have been irrelevant for I don't know how long now and Bama just now started to come back(as well as Ole Miss).

Yep. Been nothing but a downward spiral since then. And there is nothing to indicate that things will be getting any better.
A 'great program?' Good one. Lol.
And? National recognition means you've done things before, but not necessarily in the present.
Georgia is a perennial underachiever (meaning they don't live up to their preseason expectations), and UF wasn't that good until about 3 years ago (Meyer's 2nd year). Auburn was extremely tough for a while there, Arkansas had a strong run with McFadden/Jones, and Ole Miss was pretty good when they had Eli. Don't kid yourself, the balance of power wasn't nearly what you're making it out to be.

Re: 2009 1/2 RB Bryce Brown

    FYI:

    Since 2001:
    TN vs Fla: 3-5
    TN vs Ga: 3-5
    TN vs LSU: 2-3
    TN vs Ala: 4-4
    TN vs Aub: 0-4

IMHO, TN hasn't been relevant nationally since we knocked them off in the SECCG in '01..

This is very true, but they have a decent history

LSU wasn't relevant for 10 years...so lets be careful about throwing stones
