    Re: RB Bryce Brown

Well, I didn't read any of this thread but I don't want him. We got all we need. I dont get it with all the ga ga over this guy. I saw the AA bowl and he looked good in all the defensive confusion but Ford (and some others) is better and getting him might affect us next year. I would actually vote him as a potential recruiting disappointment in this class. I would recommend that he not go to a SEC school. He might get exposed.

    Have you watched his footage....

What is there not to like?

Terrelle Pryor also took a long time to sign last year, and he's almost certain to be a star at Ohio State.

I just don't understand not wanting the #1 player in the country.

    Why Not??

Unless your Michael Fords parents (or close friends with him), I just don;t get it. The more talent the better.

    That means We'd have

Murphy, Brown and Ford for the future. And when Murphy leaves. We'd have Brown, Ford, and possibly Seastrunk.

Thats a three deep rotation I can live with.

I don;t understand the logic in not wanting the best player in the country.

You tube Bryce Brown. If he isn't the truth, then I should just stop watching football.

Yes I did watch that game but running through a truck sized hole or catching a pass wide open is what I saw. I've never timed him but he doesn't look like a 4.3 guy.

He looks like a 4.3 guy to me based on his videos and the evaluations from his camp performances.

The main concern I have is not so much with Bryce himself but having Butler near the LSU program. Looks to me he is interested in being an agent in the future and I would not want him to get started in his new career surrounded by LSU players who could make him some serious cash. This may not be his plans but it still concerns me.

dude have you ever played football. first of all you cant see speed but what u can see is the guy pull away from people...usain bolt doesnt look like he is running fast except the fact that he is pulling away from everyone....ok here is a good point a guy that runs 4.5 is fast and he is not going to get run down from behind..YOU CANT SEE SPEED

You're completely contradicting yourself. If an object is moving with other objects (moving or otherwise) as a frame of reference, then you can most certainly see speed. In fact, in the absence of measurement, that is the only way that you could assert that something is moving 'fast.'

Yes, I did play football. WR and DB. Speed is relative. When you see a player pulling away from someone I ask myself, how fast is the guy he is pulling away from? I think Brown is good but not deserving of the #1 rating in the country. For all you Rivals sluts remember this. Russell Shepard was the #1 player in the country til he signed with LSU. Then Rueben Randle was the #1 player in the country, etc. etc.. Do I need to elaborate.

Specifically I don't like Brown's running style. He seems out of control. Compare that with Michael Ford. He is always in space, always going forward and when tackled always finishes. He reminds me of Emmitt Smith.
IMO Ford is better than Brown. IMO Trent Richardson is better than Brown.

Bhelms brings up a good point. Brown's 'advisor' already has a hook into the Miami program, so he may be trying to spread it around.

I don't like prima donnas. Some, like Adrian Peterson shine, but just as many fizzle.

Brown is not looking to go to college. He is looking to go pro. Why not just go to K-State?
Well, I refer back to BHelms point.

    We don't need this guy!!!

    Re: RB Bryce Brown

You make good and bad points.

First off, Ratings and stars mean nothing. Its all based on some guys opinion. Nothing more, nothing less. Every scouting agency ranks players as they see fit, so I'm not one for going gaga for rankings.

What I have done since I was 10 years old is trust what I see.

Being a former HS running back, I'd have to diagree totally on your evaluation of Brown.

His balance is uncanny, (it takes way more than one guy to bring him down).
His speed is far beyond average, I dare to say top notch.

He is already the size of a NFL back. 5-10 215.

His vision is microscopic, (so is Russell Shepards), as they both see lanes develop way before they are supposed.

His agility is top flight, as he can cut on a dime...alll while running hard and downhill. Bryce Brown rarely takes false steps.

Sorry, but the kid is one of the best in the country. Im only 27, and I am a freak for the running back (hence, having played the position for 5 years). Bryce Brown literally reminds me of Jim Brown. He is simply a physical combination of everything you need in a RB.

While I do think Micheal Ford is an excellent recruit and addition to the LSU family, I would hesitate dearly to say Ford is a better back then Bryce Brown.

And Trent Richardson....WOW...IMHO TR is as average as the come. He remiinds me of Lamar Smith. Good balance, runs with a solid base. But other than that, Trent Richardson is simply not that impressive IMHO.
