Hatch will never have the arm to be an SEC QB. I don't expect him to see any snaps next year.

It took JJ an entire season to learn the offense, but Shepard will be here Monday & will have a lot more time to learn the offense than JJ had.

Could not agree more. In fact, it HAS to stay open to drive the kind of improvement and hard work that the coaches will be looking for. So don't look for CLM to name a starter until just before going to Seattle, IMO.

I'm expecting decent to good QB play next year. It can't be as bad as this year (which I would classify as horrible), but I don't think it will be quite as good as 2007 with Matt Flynn.

Not sure what you meant by the first statement. Are you saying if the defense looks like crap then there will be immense pressure for JJ to perform, which could hinder him?

I agree with the 19/8 ratio of TD/Int.

I think JJ takes 85-90 percent of the snaps with Shepard taking the other 10-15 percent.

I think we employ an option offense with Shepard in there with the option to pass from time to time if the play warrants.

CParso, not sure what game you were watching, but JJ was pretty damn good versus Georgia Tech. He looked more comfortable and in control of the offense than Lee ever did, even against Auburn. I also thought he had a solid game managing game vs Arkansas as well.

The only thing he needs to work on is his release. It is way too slow. Because of it, he got 2 balls knocked out of his hands for fumbles against GTech.

I also predict Lee to transfer and Hatch to leave the team as well. LSU will still have 4 QBs on staff.

I agree. We'll be MUCH better at QB in 2009.

JJ Starts the whole way. Lee plays in mop up or by injury only. The running threat should really open up the intermediate passing game. On of the things I really like about JJ is he leads the receivers allowing them to use their athleticism to grab some extra yards.

I also think Shep will have a small wildcat like package. It's the thing to do these days, and he has the skill set for it. I don't think it will be a large part of our offense, but they will definitely print it and put it in the playbook.

Flynn's QB play in 07 was average at best. He had help from every other aspect of the game.

I expect much better from JJ.

Doesn't mean we will win a championship. The supporting cast is just not the same.

JJ wasn't even close to being terrible at the end of the season.

Being he was a true freshman, it was pretty damn good IMO. Scary thing is he will only get better.

Baring injury, JJ is our QB.

    Except when he doesn't!

All QBs are coached up on how and when to put the ball in the right place depending on the route, the coverage, the receiver, etc. "Leading" is neither easy, nor always the right thing to do.
