Sorry, I've already annointed him. I've seen him going back to Desty all the way up to the spring game, and he has amazed me as an elite guy every step of the way. I think the guy is a special QB potentially here pretty soon. I think Shep can be special too at QB, but for the personnel that we have at WR, IMO JJ is the man.
I just don't recall all these times where punt returners have gotten hurt? I hear about that all the time, but have never seen it. And those opportunites you mention, they probably won't be more than 5-10 times a game to start. And if JJ develops into a bigtime QB like I think he will, it will only go down from there.
I agree about JJ. Not going so far as to crown him with the Heisman, or even all SEC honors. But he is the best "QB" we've got in the stable. - It seems obvious to me, and has since Shep committed, that he is going to be special at LSU...but not under center or with his arm. I agree with Colts that he would be worth a shot at PR. His running abilities are top shelf...electrifying. Let him run with the ball whenever and however you can. Don't think it's fair to say it's OK to risk TH or Brooks or Chad getting hurt, but not Shep. This is football...he knew what he was getting into when he signed on the dotted line with an SEC team. If he didn't wanna take a chance at injury, he should've signed with a little 12 team. - Did you see the lick he took from his cousin in the UA game?? Loston put one on him, and he hopped right up. He ain't fragile. He's the most heralded RECRUIT, but not the most heralded QB, IMO.
Jones. He is the safe man and he can make something happen. Holliday - He's fast. The problem is that we DID the Saints thing last year. It was TH then it was CJ. If TH started dropping the ball, then CJ came in and caught the ball. TH isn't a bad punt returner, just needs more reps, IMO.
Don't know how many times he fumbled, but he does fumble. And his returns are shi tey. I love CJ, (not in a ghey way), but he is no punt returner.:nope:
Ron Brooks. Patrick Peterson. Drayton Calhoun once he beefs up a bit. I agree with those that would NOT put Shep back there. I like Peterson the best. His INT return in the Spring Game showcased his wheels - he's not just big, mean and talented. He's fast.
Won't Holliday be a senior this year? This is the most mature he's going to get for us. Give him the rock until he gives it back.
I'm not sure he can consistently resist catching it inside the 10 either. I'm with you - KO good, PR bad.
I have also before he even took a snap in a p&g jersey. I was in LA for work. Told a usc fan that worked in a machine shop to remember JJ's name. Remembered reading the rivals write up how he never lost a game he started in high school. Was pissed when we lost to arkansas still have the hole in my wall should've won it. Hope the bowl win against GT is a sign of thing to come.
