Who is it? I watched the '08 BCSNCG DVD a while back and remembered CJ fumbling the ball, only to have it recovered by Coleman thank goodness. Made me wonder who would we use this year? TH has never really developed into the role, and CJ has become capable, but not comfortable in it.

My hope is that the defense will actually force more punts this season, so I think it's an important position that needs to be filled.

My thoughts? Patrick Peterson. Who would you like to see back there?

i think there was talk of ron brooks.

i think you must have a homerun hitter there. coach up holliday a little more and take the good with the bad.

I agree with putting a game changer there. We may need it a few times...could've used it last season. However, I think TH has had his chance. I think PP IS a game changer, but obviously unproven. Hope they find one during the offseason and work with him a lot on it.

I just hate having a starter from another critical position back there. If Peterson is going to be starting at CB, I think he is too valuable. I think punt returner is a critical position, too, and I'm with Gumbo. I want the homerun hitter back there. I think it has to be Trindon. He was 16th in the nation last year. With just a little improvement, he could be a game breaker.

If ron brooks can catch the ball better than trindon we need to go with him. I would love to see Trindon back there but damn he drops the ball a lot.

I think they should do it like the Saints do it... if we don't need a play out of the PR spot, put in the safe guy, if we are in need of a play, you put Holliday back there.

thats reasonable, but giving holliday fewer reps may mean more drops when you actually put him in.

The field position benefit of a good punt returner is incredibly valuable.

I like to see a safety return punts if he can get it done. Now and then a punt is faked and you need that DB in the game. Trindon can catch anybody but he may not be able to stop the run solidly.

Trindon is pretty stout for a guy his size. That is one of the surprising things about him, he doesn't go down on first contact most of the time. While he may not be as good as a safety, I think he could make an open field tackle if he had to.
