Then he geaux's and wins the Nationwide race. Damn. TIRES were a huge problem today. Right sides showing cords all day long. There is more rubber on the track then this morning however, Dover is not famous for holding rubber. Gonna be some broker hearts over blow rights tomorrow.
Well, SMOKE leads the points! Though he does not have a win, he does have 1 more top ten then Gordon and that is where the money is, consistent top ten's and top fives. I say performance overall is up since last year where at this time, the Hendrick camp was running the show. Down in performance this year is the Roush camp. Their short track program is up but the 1.5+'ers are down. Gibbs is status quo despite shrub not having 78 wins already, the dude is still performing well and STILL has the most wins. Logano is picking up the pace and showing real finishing strength. Seems he is consistently moving up a spot in the points every week for almost the last month. Denny Hamlin is the new Mark Martin, poor feller. Martin Truex Jr. is looking for long time work. He has hit his cap in the 1 car and there is truly nowhere else to geaux but out to bid. Not sure where to place him. His crew chief has been with him since before his Nationwide days so you have to look at the combination. Teressa, eat your heart out! As of now, I am thinking the 12 car. Streemy sucks, he just does. Disappointments through the season; AJ Allmendinger. That team continues to decline and that is sad cause the kid is really picking it up in a car with fenders. Casey Mears, might just be too little, too late. Dude was handed a top 3 crew with it's equipment. He should have had a better building period, much better then say, Mark Martin in the 5 crew, just sayin... David Regan=WTF? Guess it's a Roush thing which begs the question; which crew and driver gonna hafta geaux? I still think it will be McMurray. Again, too little, too late for that bunch. Oh, wait a minute, a thought, Truex to replace Michael Waltrip? opcorn:
Seeing Smoke in the lead this early is great. But Gordon is right, if he doesn't start winning races he won't have any bonus points come chase time and could start the chase dead last. Michael Waltrip Racing is actually starting to look impressive. There is word that alot of drivers are wanting to drive for him. I wouldn't be suprised to see Mickey get out of the 55 and add another team next year.
NASCAR is implementing the double-file restart which begins this weekend at Pocono. NASCAR.COM - NASCAR adopts double-file restarts in Cup Series races - Jun 4, 2009 This is huge and I can't wait. It will be awesome to see cars race for position versus trying to figure out who is a lap down. TNT will be challenged with how they will cover the action. I am glad because Pocono is about the 3rd most boring racetrack ever. Why they get two dates is beyond me.
Gambling with fuel always blows but I needed all the help I could get. Will you ever forgive me? Will ya? The buoy is next. EDIT for coolness: I jinxed the puppies too
