And you're going from how they looked on your scout teams? Lee and Hatch looked really nice last Spring and Summer as well. It's a little different in live SEC action.
I see 3 tough games (Ole Miss, Florida, Georgia). So anywhere from 11-1 to 9-3, then the SEC CG depending on which losses we have.
11-2, both losses to Florida, Sugar Bowl, Florida and Ole Miss are biggest games, Bama will be a trap game because they'll have at least two losses by the time we get them and we'll be favored heavily. Or. You know. Something different.
Probably more on the one long pass of his career against Auburn in mop-up duty. It was a nice pass, scored a TD. It's hard to say how good he will turn out to be, since we have so little to go on. I do believe he came in with the 2006 recruiting class, though, which would make him a true junior, going into next year, and not a redshirt. Either way, with only 20 pass attempts in his career, experienced, he is not. Before someone points to Flynn in comparison, Flynn WAS a redshirt AND a senior, had 78 attempts before becoming the full time starter, with a thorough whipping of Miami in the Peach Bowl as a sophomore. Just sayin...
Who will beat us? We will be at home. Sorry but I dont see a [prior year] 8-5 LSU team coming into BDS a heavy favorite over a 13(?)-1 Alabama squad. I guess that's the homer in me though.
I didn't peg Florida as a definite loss, but it's always a tough game. I figure that Tebow/Harvin return would be a big factor in that outcome as well as our Defensive Line and Linebacker play. Although, I'm glad to know that Riley and Sheppard will be back as LBs next year. I originally had the Sugar Bowl, but switched to the Cotton because I saw us finishing third in the SEC (which means that you can play in the SEC CG and not get a BCS bid a'la Tenn in '07. UGA played the Sugar Bowl).
I second your comments. It will be interesting situation for the Bama family. We had alot of offensive weapons around Lee this year (O Line, RBs, WRs, and TE) and still couldn't hide his inexperience. Bama won't have nearly as many weapons on offense next year. We'll see, though.
You mean, kinda like how we didn't see a [prior year] 7-6 team coming into Baton Rouge and beating the [prior year] 12-2 national champions? Kinda like that? Did I do it right? Who is favored really doesn't matter, and the previous season's records even less so. It isn't as if Alabama suddenly became more talented over the course of this year. We had issues, which appear to have been corrected, and we were still two plays away from being 10-3. The bounces didn't go our way this year. We are still as deep and talented as anyone in the league.
