I know we have talent and depth in most positions... and lacking in some others... but what's your predictions for this coming season and LSU football? I know we have UGA very early... and with their returning 17 starters from last season are the preseason favorite for the NC... where do we fit in in the grand scheme for the NCAA?
I am willing to predict us representing the SEC West in the SECCG... but where do we fall outside of that?

Everything points to a UGA/USC National Championship game- which WOULD SUCK that they finally got to see an SEC team in the NC Game and it wouldn't be us; HOWEVER, despite our questions about our secondary, I'm hoping we pull off a spectacular feat and make a back-to-back appearance.

It's a long shot but not impossible. Any one with a smiggin of intelligence knows it's hard to repeat but we're every bit as talented as USC and look at what they have done since '03:

    '03......One loss out
    '04......BCS NCG
    '05......BCS NCG
    '06......one loss out
    '07......one loss out

Point being, we CAN do it. The games they lost in '06 and '07 weren't the ones they were "Supposed" to, course, that's usually how it goes.

Granted the SEC is a stronger conference than the PAC-10 (Though I have to say they looked much stronger, overall, last year) but it's not beyond our reach with SO many variables that come into play- injuries (Our team as well as others- whose to say, God forbid, key players from UGA, UF, etc. don't go out hurt), critical calls, weather, player problems (again, not only in regards to our team).

The odds are against repeating and the schedule isn't favorable but it won't be a lack of talent that separates us from ANY other muddas. I CANNOT wait for Bama to roll in. I hope to get some tickets for that game.

10-2. Even numbered year on the schedule with inexperience at QB. No I don't think RP will make it till September. We could make it to the SEC championship with a little luck. I see us losing that game to UGA with their home field advantage. But still a good year!

Georgia will blow an early game like they always do. They never put together an ENTIRE good season...and they won't this year either. Peace to the dawgs.

USC will be the media darlings until they go 0 - 10. And even then some jerk will try to make a case as to why they are still "the most talented team in the country". Geeeezzzz.....

I've looked at UGA's schedule... no way they finish in the Top 5 next year. Too many tough games.

I am not saying we'll be a better team next year. I don't think Ole Miss, Miss St, USCe, and Arky will be very tough, and our OOC schedule is WEAK.

Our schedule is NOT nearly as challenging as we think. I see 4 tough games:

    At Florida(L)
At Auburn(W-they won't be as good),
home vs Bama(W too much emotion)
at home vs UGA (W - they'll be more banged up than us).

I say we lose to Florida on the road next year and that's it.

11-1, on the regular season w/ a rematch vs Florida in the SEC CG.

The winner may be headed to the BCS title game.

yeah if they complete that schedule with no losses then i don't care if there's 10 undefeated teams, they deserve to be in the BCS NC game.

i'm thinking LSU will drop 2 or 3 next year.

Im way more worried about Florida than Georgia. UGA will blow a game or two like they always do.

I thought so too,(based on who/what we're losing) but I took a long hard look at our opponents. Next year, some of them will be a just a tad "down".

I'm not trying to be a Homer at all.

Umm. Georgia is coming to Baton Rouge for the regular season. I see us winning that game with the home field advantage.

And I think RP will be there.

Editted for Tiga: Ok, if we play Ga in the SECCG it will be on their home turf. :D

Fla. and Au on the road will be tough, Ga. even though we have them at home is also a toss up.

I think we lose two to three games. Worse case, with some bad bounces/injuries we drop four. Where we finish will depend on how strong a season Auburn or maybe even Bama has.

We could still be in the thick of it, with some good fortune.
