He's not. He is pretty open to everything...right now, anyways. Good thing we have made progress in the Mobile area, because they are loaded again. Lots of top prospects will be coming out of that area, including a handful of players from the high schools that Chevis Jackson, Sidell and Phelon, and JaMarcus attended.
Cgis, you've got me curious as to why cause I've always preferred the "Dual-threat" in college football.....I know that's not a preferred style in the NFL. Now, I don't like one who drops back looking to run without going through his check-offs, but to me it adds another dimension for the defense to account for...especially with the backs we're signing.
What I've heard is that we want to take 2 QBs in the next class, with one of them being a dual-threat type player & the other being a more prototypical drop-back passer. Mackey appears to be the dual-threat guy, but I personally just don't see it unless he grows a couple inches...
:hihi: http://rivals100.rivals.com/viewrank.asp?SID=880&Year=2008&ra_key=1738[/quote] In terms of leading the list, does that mean in terms of LSU's interest or the prospect's? I ask because cornerback TJ Bryant out of Tallahasse is considered the best prospect from that area ever. He's expressed interest in LSU and I can't imagine ya'll would want to pass him up. He's special.
I just put the players from LA (and Mobile b/c we own that town) who made the rivals 250 list. We will lock down the state first and from the looks of Miles recruiting results from this yea,r he will get plenty of players from out of state.:thumb:
At this point what we know about any of the recruits is probably limited. I follow Tiger Rag, Dandy Don and other websites closely to learn as much as I can, but it will be at least until August before the Rivals and Scout rankings have been completed. But I agree that LSU is loaded with WR and may not attract very many top recruites in that position for 2008.
The Florida, Alabama, and Mississippi panhandles have always been prime LSU recruiting turf as well as east Texas. We get few players from Arkansas, for some reason. Not much talent up there for one.
Who isn't going to offer TJ Bryant is the question? I'd think Florida has the inside edge with Bryant.
Breaking down the top 100 and where they've expressed interest... UGA has 3 verbals, Ark 1 verbal and the Viles 1 verbal. 82 of the top 100 have not committed and here is how many of these players have a med or high interest in SEC schools.. UF...34 OM 22 (INTEREST. Wonder how many would sign?) Bama 18 Aub 18 LSU..18 UGA 17 Viles 13 SC 7 MSU 3 Ark 1 Vandy...1 KY 0
Re: Breaking down the top 100 and where they've expressed interest... Does Ole Miss offer to every player in the country?
