Two losses - one to Florida, the other to a team we should've beaten like Arky or worse..... Win the SEC West, then win the SEC in a rematch with Tebow. Loss to weak opponent keeps LSU out of BCS Championship contention. Sugar Bowl win against whichever unfortunate team shows up. I hope it's Notre Dame. LSU finishes in Top 5, likely 3 or 4. Ohio State loses to USC, but wins the Crystal FB by beating a team that causes an uproar because many think they shouldn't have been there. Here comes the Plus One!
Miles worst season -- 8-3, maybe even 7-4. Finishes strong, plays bowl against higher ranked opponent, wins handily and finishes between #15-25 in National Polls. The Tiger's Den lights up with people calling for Miles' immediate firing (most of whom are today proclaiming undying love for him) after his opening wins against Ark St and Troy fail to combine for 100 points in offensive production. UGa wins the SEC, faces Oh State in BCS National Championship game. Alabama goes 6-6, with critical win over Western Kentucky but heart-breaking loss to Arkansas State. HC says: "we've just got to keep improving every day." Alabama fans note that Bear Bryant used each one of those words at least once in his life, and all in the same sentence once at a Birmingham steakhouse when he told the waitress "We've just got to eat here at least once a month because y'all seem to keep improving the banana pudding every day." HC proclaimed the next Bear and given $3 million per year raise. Tex AM and one other team beat OU relegating OU to a non-BCS bowl, which the Sooners win. Missouri wins Big 12. BC and Va Tech meet in ACC title game. No one cares. Orange Bowl inadvertently fails to name them as the ACC representative against Boise State, temporarily stating that Boise State will play a State of Florida Alumni All-Star squad, in a desperate effort to sell tickets to illiterate FSU fans and former Miami players (who believe they have to buy a ticket to play in the game). Big East won by a midwest team, Cincy or Louisville. No one cares. Winner declines bowl bid because "Good Lord, do you see who we would have to play?" Michigan gains 8000 yards passing, finishes 4-7 with the low point of the season being a 117-96 loss to Minnesota. Te two teams then follow in the home-and-home Big 10 basketball season and fail to score that many points in both games combined. Those fans who did not die of shame during the football season die of boredom during basketball season. Illinois repeats Rose Bowl trip. Pac-10 won by some team with a pus mascot like beavers, ducks, sled-dogs or a tree. USC finishes 7-4, 3rd in the Pac 10, plays in Rose Bowl anyway and declared National Champion by ESPN when they lose to Illinois by less than three touchdowns. SMU caught cheating again. Given double secret death penalty. Hawaii sends consolation candy-gram. Petrino leaves Arkansas after the Spring Practice to take vacancy at Jonesboro High School for $5 million per year in contract typo made by school officials who meant to post a starting salary of $50,000. Jonesboro High fires Human Resources secretary one day after the hire. Petrino goes on e-Bay to auction himself. In a surprise move Ohio State plays National Title game in uniforms borrowed from Tennessee (offense) and Florida (defense) and wins by beating Georgia 36-3.
That's it!! It's the freaking uniforms! OSU just needs SEC uniforms in the game! Thank you so much. I like the one that puts a one loss (which would be to Ohio State) USC team over an undefeated Ohio State team in the BCS Championship Game. Very nice.
I don't like posts that quote 100 diff msgs myself, so I won't do it either. So I'll just quote you and discuss other things as we go. 1. Georgia IS overrated and WILL struggle. I agree whole-heartedly. 2. Auburn will have some problems. To really be dominant consistently in that offense, you have to be a well-oiled machine with great skill players and even then you lay an occasional egg (WVU), so they will be spot-on when they are kicking at all cylinders, but they will have some growing pains, especially early. 3. I think everyone is looking at MSU as the "sleeper" or the "team to look out for", and imo, that's bogus. I see them being at best 3-5 in the league, but as far as Arkansas goes, I can't see a team that was 8-4 WITH McFadden, Jones and Hillis being very good without them. I see a fat ole 1-7 or 2-6 for them. 4. Ole Miss on the other hand, will win a few of those close games under Nutt and will not be last in the West. Around the country, I envision returns to the earth for S. Fla, Hawaii, etc... I see Michigan being a Notre Dame-like laughing stock only to recover and be a force in 2-3 years. I see Notre Dame being very, very good winning 8-9 games. I agree with the thoughts about FSU and will take 'em 1 step further and say FSU and Miami will get themselves in position to run the ACC once again. The best "new coach" will be Neuheisel without a doubt. Colorado will win the Big 12 north under the old Boise guy (I forget his name) Despite the outburst, Mike Gundy will establish himself as the next coach in line to take over a big-time program. Kansas will also come to a crashing halt. In the Big 10, Ohio State sweeps again and if they make it to the title game, probably gets dominated again.
MSU being overrated was my main point. They could have easily lost all of those big games they won. And until they get a decent QB the best they can hope for is having a few upsets like this year.
1. tOSU goes into the Colliseum and pulls out a win, with Chris Wells running for over 200, setting the stage for his heisman campaign, straight arming one of USC's safeties on the way to the end zone for the game winner. tOSU goes undefeated, but gets left out of the MNC in favor of a 1 loss LSU and lets say undefeated Missouri (surprise undefeated winner of the B12), who gets crushed in the MNC game. 2. Buckeyes go to the rose bowl and destroy Oregon. 3. Tebow fails miserably in his first attempt to repeat as heisman winner, taking a beating, despite gaining a decent RB (don't remember, think he's an incoming FR). Florida loses 3 games inexplicably, giving up a combined 131 points in those three losses. 4. Rich Rodriguez goes 8-4 at UM, losing a heartbreaker to tOSU, in columbus. The wolverines are sporadic, looking great at times, and horrible at others, the jekyll and hyde story of CFB next year. 5. Otherwise, normality evaporates completely, as parity continues to rear it's beautiful head in college football, and next year is as exciting as this year to watch. Just a thought :thumb:
