I am just trying to be the "Devil's Advocate"...... I would love to have another NC next season. BUT....I remember how I felt when we lost to KY and how I even felt worse losing to Arky. Last season was NC or BUST. Are the same expectations set for the upcoming season? Is NC or bust a realistic expectation??? For me, As long as we can get to a BCS game, I will be happy. Anything more, is that much better!!!! :geauxtige:geauxtige :geauxtige:geauxtige
Sure, but then I'm not a rational person either. I'm not takin off these P&G tintend glasses till after signing day.
OK, I'm gonna go out on a limb and predict the entire seson for y'all. On or around August 30, the season will start. It will end on or around Dec. 6. During this time frame, hundreds of games will be played. I hereby predict that in EVERY one of those games, one team will outscore the other, and the higher scoring team will be declared the winner. After these games, teams ranked 1 and 2 in the BCS will meet up (bunch of other Bowl games will happen as well). And miraculously, just like in the regular season, the higher scoring team will win all of these games. You heard it here first!
(1) I think the defensive progession will be similar to the offensive progression from 2006 to 2007. The offense lost some high profile players and changed coaches but was statistically better in 2007. I think the defense will do the same in 2008. (2) I think LSU's offense will progress from 2007 to 2008 like UF's offense did from 2006 to 2007. UF lost a leader at QB but had a stud young QB to take over the season after the gators won the BCS Champ. I think LSU's offense will be more explosive and be able to score from any spot on the field. Combine those two prediction and you have a team that is going to play "4 quarter of mean nasty aZZ football" in 2008 and make all of us Tiger fans proud. As for the season I see two losses, a sixth straight voctory over bammer, a second consecutive SEC championship, and a Sugar Bowl matchup against a weak at large team. I think a non-college football powerhouse team will win the NC, two possibilities are Clemson and Mizzou both are good programs but not powerhouses.
Since the Sugar had last choice this year shouldn't they get first choice next year? I don't know how it works, but if we make it to the Sugar I at least hope it's a good game this time.
A 2 loss LSU, as SEC Champs, jumps an undefeated Ohio St to play 1-loss USC in the National Championship game with little argument as no one wants to see Ohio St lose again & everyone wants to see USC-LSU. :hihi:
LSU has two regular season losses – Georgia and Florida – but still wins the West. Auburn is second in the SEC West with two losses – but LSU wins the head to head tiebreaker. Bama beats UT in a blowout but again falls to LSU, Auburn and MSU. MSU improves but doesn’t win the Egg Bowl. Arkansas doesn’t qualify for a bowl. Georgia does not make it to the SECCG with losses to UT and to Florida who wins the East. Vanderbilt, Kentucky and South Carolina don’t qualify for bowls even though both Vanderbilt and Kentucky beat UT. LSU beats Florida to win the SECCG. OSU beats Michigan again. Southern Cal beats OSU, but has two conference losses. Nebraska goes bowling in Bo’s first year. West Virginia, Penn State and ND all have losing seasons. Missouri wins their conference championship game. ldskule:
Bo's Huskers win the weak Big XII North, only to loose to Oklahoma for a second time in the Championship game. The Sooners go on to win the NC. As a consolation prize, Nebraska faces LSU in the Cotton Bowl. Without going into specifics on the final score, LSU feels slighted while NU is ecstatic with the opportunity. Meanwhile on the LSU forum, I irritate everyone on here for a month straight. In the end, I get what I deserve...
