Since Mac has been MIA I'll go ahead and do the honors. First game is tonight at the Warriors , 9:30 on CST. The hornets will have a lot more national TV games this season, I counted 13 so far. Geaux Hornets.

This team is going to be a good one. Posey helping out on defense end and knocking down critical 3s can only help. Experience all around and eyes on the title.

How is the bench looking compared to last year???

Can't really get much worse than last year I guess. Scott still hasn't decided who will back up Chandler, it's between Ely and Armstrong. That is the bench spot that worries me the most. He will make a decision today before the game.

Ah, James Posey already paying dividends.

    The bench is definitely stronger.

They have looked good so far. Back to back road victories to start the season. Both without Wright and one without Chandler. West stills scores and then gets beat on defense in transition. Hopefully Posey can teach him a few things on D. Going to be a fun season.

Glad I am not alone in thinking West is merely an average player, because how good he is on offense is offset by how atrocious he is on defense.

If you score 25 points, but then give up 20+ because of sloppy defense on the other end, then just how are you really?

My first wise-ass instinct was to respond "5 points better?" But to be honest, I've never paid much attention to West on the defensive end. I'm going to make it a point to do so next time I see them.

I'm not sold on James as a backup to Paul (continuing the thoughts on the bench). He strikes me as a shooter, not a playmaker. Pargo was a shooter first as well, but I think he was a better all-around guard than James.

    He's not a bad defender...

Like if someone is backing him down on the block, he will hold his own. He just gives up a lot of lazy buckets imo.

    And about Mike James.

    Agree 100%.

He is an offense killer. Shoots way too many bad shots.

Hornets have won 4 of their last 5. Peja's getting hot. Maybe things are starting to turn?

They showed a comparison between last years team and this years team at this point in the season. They have only one less win this season and almost all of their stats are the same. I guess you would like to see some improvement, especially with how good the Lakers have looked. But I don't think they are in any hole right now.
