I wonder when Bo Pelini, or his agent/rep had their first discussions with Nebraska. I wonder when Miles and Michigan first talked-seriously talked! From what I've seen, this mess probably started some time between our Florida victory, the loss @ Kentucky or our bye week. We have noticed a significant decline in our team's play for quite a while. Yes, we've had several injuries, and the pressure of being #1, but I am not sold on those as being our demise. So, what are the chances that our distracted coaches have cost us dearly? Does anyone feel like the discussions of their next coaching gig has sabotaged our chance to hoist some crystal on Jan 7th? We will find out later today if they've ruined our chance to be Champions of the SEC. How do you guys feel about all of this? :geaux:
Probably got underway during the bye week. Don't know if this was enough to cost us the NC, but couldn't have been a good thing. ldskule:
thelouisianasportsmen do feel this team had a radical decline especially after bama win...if a coach's dream job opened up, but they wouldn't wait till jan what would you do? Miles should have quit in advance... bertman shouldn't let him or Pelini coach this game... has anybody ever seen this happen before...team in title chase but coaches are looking to coach elsewhere?
you can't be upset that the state of LSU football is such that our coordinators and HC are wanted men by other top programs. the unfortunate part of college football is HC positions need to be filled immediately after the season because recruiting needs to be done for the February signing day - a missed year in recruiting can set a program back several years. I doubt Les or Bo were contacted or thought about the other openings they are now mentioned for until the last week or two...I still expect a victory today and a BCS bowl game win. I personally see no sabotage here except for what the Auburn players did to Dorsey.
I don't know about sabotage but I believe Pelini knew this was Callacan't last year and was here temp just to have a paycheck and await his HC job at NEB. Miles, I don't know. If he's going to take the job, just come out and say it or if he's going to stay, truthfully say it. I believe after the loss to App State and the blowout by Oregon he received a few phone calls telling him to think about it!
