yes... they are very good, and may well be the best in the NL (although my vote goes to San Diego), but they are in no-way, shape, or form ready to tackle American league teams. it's no coincidence that their dip always occurs during interleague play. Remember last year when Martin was talking about how they'd dominate the R. Sox, and they got swept?
i went to the game last night, johan santana is no joke. and the mets are playing terrible. not only can they not hit or pitch, they cant play defense. yes, that was terrible, although i do like to blame it on pitching injuries, including pedro.
the mets have won 8 of 10 and the braves have won 5 straight. it's amazing how much easier a season is when you're playing NL teams again.
that is true. i have been a big fan of interleague play consisting of every NL team having a 2 game series with every other AL team, so no one could complain.
right, the mets and braves didnt just play any AL teams, they played the a's and the red sox and tigers and such. they didnt play the orioles or the devil rays. pretty sure the mets had a winning record in interleague anyways.
mets still lead all of baseball in batting average against. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/stats...type=reg&sort=opponentAvg&split=0&season=2007
