Good grief! Can't believe there is no mention of the race. I didn't get to see it cause I took my youngest daughter to see Shrek 3 and Pirates 3 after church today. I did do a search just a minute ago. Dario Franchitti, who is Scottish, won the event. He is also married to actress Ashley Judd. :thumb:
Ashley jumping over the wall with her rain soaked low cut dress was by far the most exciting part of the race I saw. I mean how exciting is a race that ends in a downpour under caution?
How is that? Not trying to be a smart-a$$, but isn't the premise of both the same; which is racing cars to determine a winner? What makes NASCAR racing better? Just curious.
I prefer IRL when it's not @ Indy. I prefer Nascar when it's road courses. Left Left Left Left Left Left Left Left is boring.
A lot of NASCAR fans like the contact between cars. It produces a lot more action. For people who are used to NASCAR open wheel racing can be pretty boring especially if the race is run on a road course.
aren't most IRL races on oval courses? I think there are only 3 or 4 road course on the IRL schedule.
Thats is right on. I like the contact. I like the fact that if you are gonna hold your position and not give someone the inside, you risk the chance that you might get bumped and put into the wall. Plus the coverage is 10 times better and the drivers are easier to connect with.
Then you should prefer Formula 1, which is infinitely better than IRL/Cart. A lot of folks bemoan the "all left turns" thing, but I've found that's normally an indicator that the person either doesn't really understand what's going on in a race, or has not really watched road course races either. The turns in a pro race are almost secondary to other aspects of a road race, because they're generally in single file and few passes are made in the turns. Sportbike racing is incredible in the turns though. Straight up lunatics.
i dont really understand racing either, because i am with gradin99 on this one, circles are boring. nascar is slightly better because they appear to wreck more and there is more bumping. overall, racing isnt that great. the most interesting thing i know about the indy 500 is that i have read that the third woman in the race, venezuelan milka duno, is a miserable driver, who is financed as a showpiece for hugo chavez, through citgo, his oil company. she did suck in the race, and crashed out, so maybe it is true. also i am always mildly annoyed with danica patrick, because if they are gonna go nuts over a girl driver, at least can she be better looking and not an unbearable bitch?
