I was at MJ's 5th game back when he hit a shot at the buzzer to beat the Hawks. By far my favorite sports moment ever.
Another 17k+ game in a game that started out sloppy but turned into a well-played victory for the Hornets. Attendance: 17,225 Average from December 1 to now: 13,830
Shinn wants to negotiate a new long-term deal that will guarantee the team stays for 10 years, with no attendance requirement or opt-out clause: http://blog.nola.com/updates/2008/03/hornets_seek_longterm_deal.html
I'd rethink that comment, based on the last two games. Granted, he's only getting the PT because of the injury to West, but I have to think he's made a strong case for more quality time with his play.
That's awesome. As of right now, the team is only 900 people away from hitting the average anyhow. One thing that definitely helped New Orleans's cause was that the All-Star weekend was such a success and got rave reviews. I'm sure another factor is that the state is probably going to end up throwing a ton of money Shinn's way.
