I am very happy with this class of players that LSU has committed. With no defections come signing day and the pickup of a few players that are leaning our way. Like to see 1 more RB Keiland Williams 2 More receivers Dixon and one of the Mitchells. 1 more OL ? 1 More DT Mccoy or Deas or Manley II 1 more position player. Jonas Mouton , another receiver, or TE, or another defensive tackle. This class fills alot of needs of LSU moving forward and if we can just get the RB and Receivers i will be very happy with this class. I am a little concerned that the Ga. linebackers might change their mind but i hope they stick to their commits. Next year we will need to sign a QB or two as a priority since we dont sign any this year. According to Dandydon La. will be loaded next year and we will need some Oline quality from that class as well.
If that one extra RB didn't happen to be Keiland Williams, I wouldn't say that I felt we need another one. We've got 2 high quality ones already plus a grey shirt & 2 that will be redshirt freshmen from last year. However, being that it is Keiland Williams, I really really want to sign him. It looks like Chris Mitchell is going to come to LSU & I think some said that Dixon likely won't qualify, but it would still be nice to sign him. Personally, I would like us to sign 2 more OL, but I just don't know what quality guys we could get at this point... Things could get interesting with a few of our recruits switching, but hopefully we won't get the short end of the stick.
There has to be an OL that Miles and the staff already knows is coming. We've pretty much completely backed off Okung, who we could probably have.
Nope. Either Loadholt, Symonette, or Deas (who I think we are recruiting for OG). Assuming that we actually do sign another OL not named Graves or Unsworth.
I thought Deas is supposed to be this "outstanding" D-tackle that people are raving about (other than Woods and McCoy of course)??? I thought we were heavily recruiting Deas (and McCoy) for D-tackle alongside Woods? I guess that since Levingston (current commitment) is up to 290-300 lbs., he's not a DE prospect any longer...and RJF is beefed up from what I'm understanding, then perhaps other than Woods, we don't have a pressing need for another D-tackle? But make no mistake about it, with Levingston and RJF looking more like tackles than ends, signing Tillman because an even greater priority than what it already was.
The last I heard about what position we were recruiting at was when back at the beginning of the season and it was guard. Maybe it has changed since then.
We moved back into the top 5 on Rivals in team recruiting, passing up Georgia and FSU. We could take as many as six more guys so passing ND and Texas is not out of the question.
We are looking at Deas as a DT. He's too good a prospect at that position. Had he played football this season he would be ranked right up there with McCoy and Woods. I mean the guy did not play all season and was ranked the 25th best DT...shows up and dominates the CaliFlorida Bowl and moves up to #6.
