A quick search found this one thread ... and there are many others. I'd say it was more of a 50/50 split initially on the Miles hiring.

That thread was after we had hired him on the 3rd.

I am talking about when it first came to be that he was going to be our coach weeks before.

I am not in anyway trying to act as if I was the only one who liked him.....a lot of people did....but it seemed that on the first day that it came to light that he would be our coach.....the entire damn site went nuts.

You don't know a darn thing about how many times other people were offered any jobs at LSU, because you are getting your info from the media, which is a NOTORIOUSLY inaccurate place to get this kind of info. So just keep that in mind . . . . your comments are based on RANK speculation.

I don't mean to be overly rude or offensive with you, because you are a good guy around here. Just take my comments as a mild challenge to your smug belief that you are well-informed about this topic.

Peabody, as far as Miles is concerned, I don't think from everything that I have read, and I read one hell of a lot, that any other coach was ever offered the HC job. None, zilch, nada. Did they interviews others, yep. But just because someone else is interviewed that doesn't mean they were offered. And in today's world I have to believe that if anyone was offered the job it would have hit the media in about 5 minutes and been plastered all over the place.

Now the DC job probably was offered to Campo, maybe Edwards. As far why they wouldn't take it, I think ht Edwards decision was pretty clear and we simply could not compete with Saban and the Fins. Campo we just don't know why except for guessing it had something to do with his pension.

I would like to go on record as to saying we will kick major ass in 2005. If we lose it will be a game like the Florida game in 2003. The Tigers were one really bad play from 10-2. This staff will not only win with Saban's recurits, they will kick ass with thier own. :geauxtige :thumb: :tigerhead

I will come clean. I miss Saban. But I am a tiger fan & could care less about the dolphins. So... I will pull for Miles. What Saban has done (for me anyway) is to up the expectation level. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. Go Les Miles & Go tigers!

I agree with you completely. I miss Saban. I'm pulling for Miles big time. I want Miles to make me forget about Saban. I don't care about the Fins.

I would add that if the Fins end up hiring a bunch of LSU Tiger football players, then I might find myself becoming a Miami Dolphins fan. I would like that to happen, and I'm hopeful that it will happen.

I don't have a beef... right now... I'll reserve judgement. However, I won't get too excited if we win 10 or 11 games next year (remember Archer)... I'm optimistic, but NOBODY knew for a fact that Saban would win a NC, and NOBODY knows for a fact whether Miles will be great, mediocre, or terrible... there is a fine line between great and mediocre... we could have easily been 7-5 or 10-1 after the regular season... I'm optimistic. :crystal::crystal:

I'll be excited if we go 11-1 or 10-2 next year, why not. It's good to get wexcited when the Tigers do good instead of waiting a few years to see if they will do bad.
