2005 - I thought CLM might have done the best coaching this year of any football coach we have ever had. With Katrina and Rita causing so many problems with the home life of kids on the team and added to that the moving of dates/location of games.

We won 10 games plus we make it to Atlanta lost but Won our Bowl game

many in Baton Rouge didn't like the CLM hire and don't like him

2006- Solid team that beats the Hogs late in the year but the Hogs go to Atlanta.

We won 10 games plus Won our Bowl game

many in Baton Rouge didn't like the CLM hire and don't like him

2007- Great games all year ! Florida game for me in Baton Rouge is the single best football game I have been to in my life. Thanks CLM for that one game.

We win it all BCS National Championship

many in Baton Rouge didn't like the CLM hire and don't like him - we lost 2 games we should have not lost - CLM is winning with Saban players

2008 - Bo leaves and we have a 2 headed DC position - We have weak QB play
not a very good team - but we win our Bowl game

many many in Baton Rouge didn't like the CLM hire and don't like him

2009 - Coach shakes up staff and brings in the Chief from Tenn to run D - we still have weak QB play, no running game, awful OL play

we lose our Bowl game and the end of the OLE MISS game is sooo bad that I wonder about CLM and his future at LSU. kick the FG win the game

    that brings us to 2010

I think this year and this team will reflect CLM and show fans what to expect for about the next 10 years. I see LSU running 60% of the time and the offense will be changed and now Les has taken over the O. We will use the run to set up everything we do. It will be a mix of ole time Big-10 and the blending of the next with the Wild Cat/Shep look.

Our D is in good hands and will always be in the top 4 in SEC D's.

I don't think we will lose more than one game and I hope that one game in not to Bama. I expect this Tiger team to make it back to Atlanta and I expect to win that game.

Going to be great times at LSU and with the #1 recruiting class in 2011
many in Baton Rouge will be glad that Coach Les Miles is in Baton Rouge.

Nice, simple summary. I agree with pretty much all of it. And you're right, holding that team together in 2005, in the face of the hurricanes and all the distractions that came with it, was a terrific coaching job.

2010 is a big year for Miles and LSU football.

I agree and the opening game is huge

If we slug through the game and win 10-9 I don't know

    but

If we show a running game against one of the better D's we will see all year - YES!!

If we run 60% of the time, we lose 6 or 7 games.

Oline isn't going to be strong enough, and you can be that one sided in the SEC.

From year to year (not just LSU or Bama but with any team) you have to find the strengths of your team for THAT year and play towards them. One year a team might be great at pounding the ball because they have a great run blocking OL and some stout RB's. But the next season all of that changes because the team has lost players that made the previous year's team what it was.

I wasn't able to watch the LSU spring game this year and I'm not current on who y'all have returning and their strengths. But the key for LSU's season is going to be to identify (as quickly as possible) what THIS YEAR'S team does well and play toward those strengths.
