But they did...The thing is that the 06 team might be the only team in the history of college football to play 4 road games against teams ranked in the top 8.

No question the 2003 team. Matt Mauck over Matt Flynn, Our '03 defense over '07 defense, Offensively - balanced although the '07 offense seems to have more raw talent.

It would be close but here is the final score

    '03 - 27
    '07 - 21

I think it has more to do with our play calling and our improved running game. Flynn is more inconsistent than JaMarcus has ever been in his career. Im not bashing Flynn, but remember he has 10 INTs to only 14 TDs, and a very mediocre 56.5 completion %.

I think 10 years from now, we may be able to tell how truly talented that team was. I believe Russell, Bowe, Doucet, Williams, Landry, Dorsey, Beckwith are going to be league super stars one day and people will look back and say, how in the hell did this team lose 2 games?!! That team may be one of the most talented ever!

Please stop talking about the '06 team...It makes me sick to my stomach... There was no way we were gonna win the Florida game...The game against Auburn, we should've won that game...Remember the pass interference/non pass interference??? My problem with that play is that they never reviewed it...And that is a play that can be reviewed...It happened this year against Bama...That call kept us from scoring and having another shot against Florida in the SECCG...Bottom line is that there are years in which you have awesome team but a very tough schedule (4 road games against top 8 teams), and other years with a good team and a favorable schedule...That's the difference between the '06 and the '07 LSU teams.

I would say the 03 team wins a close one. Good question, by the way!

I think the 03 d line was better, particularly on the two ends. I like the 07 LB's, and the 03 secondary, they didn't have as many breakdowns as this year.

The 03 o line was better, receivers about even, QB even, and RB even. The o7 team has MUCH better depth at RB, but only one can be on the field at a time, and when Justin Vincent was hot in the second half of the year, he was as good as any. And Alley B was good coming off the bench.

    I'll take the 03 team 21 - 20.
