reading an article on TigerRag slamming this years defense as being sloppy and ineffective since the 2nd half of the South Carolina game. went on to say that the 2003 team only allowed 122pts vs 191 so far this year. doesn't mention that this team has a more productive offense.

So what do you guys think. If forced to place a bet, who would you put your money on to win a fictional 'Tiger Bowl' - 2003 LSU Tigers vs 2007 LSU Tigers?

(yes, Saban would be coaching the 2003 version...)

I would never slam 2007's defense as I would be afraid that the oh so powerful Mr. Glenn Dorsey would get really po'd .....

However, I am torn in this question, but i think i would go with the 2003 tigers in a triple overtime by a field goal. :thumb:

But i do LOVE our TIGERS OF 2007!! :geaux: :LSU231: :geaux:

I would say 2003 because it seemed as if the team was more consistent. Plus, that defense had some swagger about them that they knew they were better, probably because they were.

Either way, having to pick a winner is a good sign of where the program is.

I am going to go with the 2007 team. I think the 2007 team can score 30 pts on the 2003 team and the 2003 team had trouble scoring more than 30 in return.

It would definately be a battle though. Both teams had that we don't want to lose mentality and it would be a fight to the end.

2003 wins with better wr's and o line and better special teams (think skyler green) also better punter so field position would favor 2003.

I don't think any team scored 30 on that defense all year. I think the biggest mismatch would be the 2003 d-line against the 2007 o-line.

    2003 win's that game.

2003 but would be a great game. Also when RP gets the chance to show his talent plus with the WRs and RBs plus the overall talent of the team his senior year will probably beat both the 2003 and 07 team. Next year's team will be great also just that his senior yr will be an odd yr and like this yr resulting in a easier/home schedule. The future is very bright here

The 2007 team wins on the last play of the game after being down by two scores to start the last quarter!

Right now, 2007 team wins by 3 pts.

2007 better offensive talent. 2003 team's defense was only giving up 13 pts per game. the 2007 defense only gives up around 16 pts per game. 2003 defense was veneralbe to screens and the 2007 offense has a very good screen game. Also, I think the 3rd and 4th running backs of the 2007 (Holiday, Scott and Murphy) are better than (Cary and Green). I think the 2007 defense could D up the 2003 offense.

I agree. Not to put down a great 03 d, but they didn't have to face the OBC and his offense, Tebow and that offense, and the much improved offense of Kentucky. All that said, I do beleive that the 03 D would still have been as dominating, but they're are only 3pts/game better statistically, therefore I think 07 by 3. :geaux:
