Better question, who is the idiot that put them in the poll? Oh, hey Tirk, how you doing? Didn't see you there.
Perhaps the messenger who delivers the news to the villagers hasn't reached that part of Arkansas yet
And yeah, it's easily Alabama. Their schedule is better than the other teams and their only loss is to the #1 team in the country in OT.
The poll is a bit premature anyway since there are still conference title games to be played for some of the teams. LSU is in regardless but OSU and Va Tech may be irrelevant after next weekend. In reality of the teams listed I think OSU has the biggest challenge still ahead of them. JMO
I went ahead and put OSU in there. And this is why. They're supposed to have this massive offense that doesn't get shut down. We've already seen defense vs defense, and we won that matchup. I'm much more interested in seeing if there is truly an offense that we cannot pick apart. I really don't think there is, but everyone is saying OSU has it. If they have that offense, they truly are #2, and I would love to see a great offense vs a legendary defense.
I would like to play OSU for the offense/defense match up and because CLM coached there. I would like to see a Bama rematch for another shot to beat them again and put Little Nicky on his heels with Bama fans.
I believe Bama is the #2 team right now, so I voted for them. But since we've already beaten them, and it's a bowl game, I'd like to see us play someone else. Come on Okie Light!!! :crystal::geaux::crystal::geaux::crystal:
Voted for Bama, but this is kind of like the discussion I hear going on about LSU now. You know, the one that goes, LSU may not be the greatest team ever, but they may be having the greatest season ever. Bama may be better than Oklahoma St, but based on strength of schedule, OSU is having a better season.
Bama actually has 4 and Okie State has 3. As in, teams that were ranked when they played. You can't blame Bama for beating down Auburn and knocking them out of the rankings. Not to mention Okie State losing to an 6-5 Iowa State team, while Bama lost in OT to us. Since we haven't played Okie State, I can only deduce that means that Bama is right behind us. All other games were double digit wins, just like us.
Your point about Alabama knocking Auburn out is a valid one, I think. I also think another thing worth noting is that LSU and Alabama played 6 of 7 of the same SEC opponents (each other being the 8th). So 6 teams in the SEC had 2 losses to the 2 best teams in the country. Who knows if Georgia and South Carolina would be ranked if they had had to play LSU and Alabama. And who knows where Mississippi St., Auburn, and Florida might be if they hadn't.
