Those two bombs he threw were also two feet in front of his receivers. I guess that can be attributed to excitement because both time the receivers were three steps ahead of the defenders. If he makes those throws, he would have opened some eyes. That would have made three long touchdown passes in one game. Something we haven't done consistently all year.
The style of Flynn and Perrilloux are very similar. Both are dual-threat quarterbacks. So I don't know if it would throw the defense off balance. I have never been a big fan of dual quarterback systems, so I would play Flynn so long as he is getting the job done. But if he struggles, put in Perrilloux. But if Miles does put Perrilloux in from time to time, he needs to put him for a least a series each time and cut him lose. Let him sling the ball. Don't do what he's been doing prior to the Tennessee game: Putting RP in for one down and not letting him throw the ball.
I agree. He was just a wee bit off. Likely due to not being consistently involved in the offense throughout the year. Next year, those are money passes. I can't wait. But this year, I think we're better off with Flynn at the helm. RP put 14 on the board for the SECCG. The defense did the rest. Flynn hasn't put up less than 28 all year. I want to see him, and him only in this game. It's been disruptive with RP coming into games all year. Think of the timeouts we burned.
RP should play a series here and there to change things up and keep OSU off balance. :geaux::crystal:
Rotating RP into the game worked well early in the season, it should work well now. I do not think the OSU defense is that much stronger that what we have already seen in SEC play. RP has the SECCG game experience which should help him. Matt got us to the top of the West Division and we know what he can do - especially in a bowl setting. THIS IS THE GAME - pull out any stops, leave it all on the field. Assuming both are healthy (Matt's shoulder and Ryan's cut finger), both should play IMO. ldskule: ldskule: ldskule: ldskule: ldskule: ldskule: ldskule: ldskule: ldskule: ldskule: ldskule:
Wanna have some fun? Flynn, Perriloux and Holliday in the backfield. Or Williams or Scott or Hester. Give 'em something to think about. By the time they figure it out it'll be too late..... sort of like us in the R-Kansas game...:rolleye33:
We ran a similar formation in the SEC Championship. Simple I formation with Perrilloux, Hester and Trindon. They ran the dive to Hester, but I'm sure the defense was thinking toss or counter to Trindon.
I think Flynn should get the start...with RP getting 20% of the snaps..I agree we need to run some play action with him....my concern is special teams...esp. punt coverage....so lets just score everytime!
I think RP's play in the SECCG CERTAINLY earned him the right to play--and play effectively, in the title game.
