I saw this earlier. The article I read said the seas were 4' and increased to 7' later in the day. Thats a little more than I would go out in on a 21' boat.
Definitely not prayers go out to their family here is another link from yahoo regarding this http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=ap-missingboaters-nfl&prov=ap&type=lgns
How any of them survived is incredible. Cold outside temperatures and in the water for 2 nights, amazing.
Something just seems funny with this situation...also don't get why they were that far in that small boat.
if your motor takes sh!t during a falling tide, and you're out to sea pretty damn quick. Not many anchors (that would fit in that boat) will hold in 7 foot seas.
That's terrible but, I do not understand this statement. We supposedly had an experienced boater here. How could someone with experience try to anchor a 21' boat in a 7' chop? First of all, the anchor would drag the bottom. Secondly, if it snagged something it would toss that boat around like a limp rag doll possibly throwing everyone off in a split second. A 7' sea is not to be taken for granted in a 21' boat. It makes no sense why an experienced boater would do that.
