Re: LB Ryan Baker Commits Didn't know anything about him but he had some impressive offers (Florida, Bama, Clemson, Arkansas, Auburn). Looks like a very solid player. I'm happy we're getting LBs
Re: LB Ryan Baker Commits 4.55 40! pretty swooft for an LB...betcha they put a little weight on him though.
Re: LB Ryan Baker Commits Looks like a Trev Faulk or Buster Davis type in his films. He's pretty small, though, and you wonder if he'll be able to fight off blocks. If he can, he'll be special.
Re: LB Ryan Baker Commits I think you're correct. Said in the article that the coaching staff told him they would likely keep him at MLB. With some weight on him, he could be perhaps like an Ernie Simms-type...or Buster Davis (the FSU one). His highlight clips look solid. Looks real fluid to the ball; gets there quickly (4.55-fory will do that to ya!)...
Re: LB Ryan Baker Commits You really never know how players will develop. Patrick Willis was a three star, 6'2', 220lb highschool linebacker with 4.6 speed. I think Ole Miss was his only SEC or even BCS Conference offer in 2003 and most of the SEC is now glad he is in the NFL. Two years from now Baker could be something.
Re: LB Ryan Baker Commits Some sources are saying that Pratter has commited as well, although neither Scott or Rivals has confirmed. Both of these guys have a good chance at moving to 4 stars. Look at their offer lists. Also, taking these 2 LBs makes me wonder if we'll put Theriot at FB.
Re: LB Ryan Baker Commits Theriot would be a good addition at either FB or LB, IMO, but I can't help but get excited about the possibility of a MULE at MLB again (like Lionel Turner was although Theriot isn't quite that big). ...but I do recognize the need for a brusing FB.
Re: LB Ryan Baker Commits With the new offense we are going to run perhaps he can play both LB and part-time FB. Isn't a true FB type going to be used more sparingly in this offense?
