I've pretty much paid zero attention to LSU basketball this season, other than reading about loss after loss and the Brady firing. How is this team different then the one under Brady? Same players obviously. Different coaching philosophy? Different playcalling/gameplanning? That aspect of basketball has always confused me.
cjohnson has been back for a while now. i think he's the main difference. the clear difference statistically is D. and cjohnson is clearly a game changer. id like to begin to think that they have a shot at the SEC tourney. realistic that they get a higher seed so they have relatively easy game 1 against UGA or USC. then need to win a tough one against UT or Vandy. then benefit from an upset in the other side. who's with me?
certantly possible and no doubt fun to think about but we will just have to wait and see would be nothing short of amazing though
This is another reason a team such as LSU could become dominate in the west. The west is so much easier than the east, no dominate teams in the west in most years.
Having a semi-healthy team has helped and probably would have had the same successes had Brady been there but I don't think I am alone in thinking Butch should be given a chance. If one of the traits Skip is looking for is someone who can bond with fans and is a good coach then Butch is one who can do this. I have a ton of respect for the man. I hope the AD has the same eye.
Brady had Chris Johnson in his losses to Tulane, Ok St. in his 6 pt win over Chamindade in his 4 pt win over McNeese This team is playing much better, regardless of who is on the floor and who isn't. They just have so much more freedom now, knowing they won't be getting cursed at and pulled out of the game if they miss a single shot. Not a single player enjoyed playing for Brady. They enjoyed playing for LSU, but they didn't enjoy playing for Brady. Now these kids enjoy playing for Butch.
I'll give you the benefit there but they had their reasons for coming to play for Brady in the first place. I'm not saying Brady didn't have his faults but I can't see how he managed to bring in these guys and them not know his reputation.
I was under the impression that Brady encouraged wild, late in the shot clock, desparation shots from way outside.
