    I jsut read this:

Couple Killed Over Argument After GameAP

EVERGREEN, Ala. (Nov. 10) - Authorities say an argument over Saturday's Alabama-LSU football game led to the shooting deaths of a couple at a home in southern Alabama.
Prosecutors identified the victims as Dennis and Donna Smith of Brewton. The shooting happened about 7 p.m. Saturday at the home of Michael Williams in the rural community of Owassa.
Williams was arrested and charged with two counts of murder.
Investigators told the Press-Register newspaper in Mobile that Dennis Smith, an LSU fan, called Williams, an Alabama fan, after Alabama's 27-21 overtime win and an argument ensued.
The Smiths went to Williams home. Investigators said Smith had a pistol and Williams had a shotgun and fired. Donna Smith was a relative of Williams' girlfriend.

I know this is an extreme example, but has this environment we call a game gotten out of control. Reading the headlines before I read the story I was hoping that this didn't have anything to do with the LSU/ALA game.

I know we are all rabid fans and love to cheer for our respective teams. I know some taunting of our opponents fans is normally done in fun. What I don't get is how can fun taunting end up like this.

Believe me living here in Florida, I give and take my share of abuse when it comes to these games. I was at the Florida game and my wife and I took our share of abuse from some of their fans. And yes there were a couple who were total asses and really would have loved to pimp slap. But who would have been the bigger looser? Me or them.

LSU fans have gained a reputation of being some of the worse fans when is comes to this. I don't agree with statement at all but sometimes we may have to look in the mirror and wonder.

I guess all I am trying to say is next time the insults start to fly, just be sure both sides know that it is all in fun and I hope this never happens again.

I wonder how legit that is, this is the third incident I've heard of Bama fans involved in either a shooting death or pointing gun at a kid, etc. Surely they can't be that crazy can they?

LSU fan made a mistake by bringing a tiny pistol to a grown mans gun party. More than likely this was a meth deal gone bad.

There's more to this story. the fact that it was between an LSU fan and a Bama fan is peripheral.

Yeah, it was probably two drug dealers, with one wearing an LSU hat and the other a Bama hat.

and the lady who died was related to the shooter's girlfriend. sounds to me that they've had some prior issues
