The range for now is 20-23. About to go on vacation but attrition and non-qualifiers go into the numbers. Benton and another WR might not qualify from last class as well. Add grey shirts, etc... it will be in that range and growing.

There is always attrition. Players decide they aren't going to break into the starting lineup and leave. Every year, young players pass up older players, and those older players decide to go to another school. Or injuries. Or disciplinary problems. Or the NFL. You can use greyshirts to cover the rest.

You have to believe we finish very strong. We currently have one-5 star, seven-4 star players, and six-3 star players. All of our 3 star players are rated 5.7, which is the highest rating you can have without being a 4 star. I think at least 2 of these guys get a 4th star. Perhaps Minter, Garrett or Ainsworth get the nod. Another positive is that from here on out I believe we will sign almost exclusively 4 and 5 star players except for Wiliford and perhaps the TE Wilson. Wiliford would be a wash if Orelius-(3 star) decommits. (Sorry for the spelling on the names if incorrect)
    Projection
    Four 5 star players
    Thirteen 4 star players
    Five 3 star players

    I got:

5 ***** (Shepard, Randle, McFarland, Davenport, Loston)
    13 ****
    5 ***

That makes for an exact 4.00 average.

This should put us in the top 3.

I was playing it safer and assuming we would get either Loston or McFarland, but not both. I hope you are right and we get both! If your prediction comes true I think this will be our best class ever in terms of average star ranking for a big class. It is easier to get your avg. star ranking higher if you only sign a dozen or so players.

Take a look at how well cowbell "U" is doing. They have 6 out of the top 10 in Mississippi and a few more decent recruits. That is outstanding for Crooms. Perhaps coach "O"s departure is hurting with recruiting. As for as Ole Miss, "Sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don't."

It has probably already been mentioned by now, but if we get McFarland we will have the top 2 players in Texas. No one would have thought this a possibility up until now IMO. Texas is a gold mine for us and we are making more progress every year it seems. How do you think Oklahoma won for all those years? They won with Texas recruits. Oklahoma doesn't have that much talent in state. Our talent garnered from Texas has panned out on the field also in recent years. For example, Flynn, Addai, Ciron Black, Big Herman and hopefully Tolliver.

We have a good chance at landing 3 of the top 5 prospects from Texas.

Absolutely. Adrian Peterson went to OU because he said he'd rather play for them than lose to them every year if he went to Texas.

Texas, especially the Houston area, is great to LSU & as long as we continue to be successful it should stay that way.
