The winner of the game on Jan. 7th will be the first 2-time BCS champion... Doesn't really mean anything... just a random thought...

I think it is very important. When LSU wins this game, we are the undisputed team of the decade! We don't need a pretender like tosu to try and make that claim!

The winner of this game also gets the polls behind them for next year. Where you start helps where you finish! (just ask the paper tigers).

I love it! First team to win 2 BCSCG's!

    "Have a great day!"

Winning the :crystal: on Jan 7th makes this one of the GREAT decades in LSU football history ...

    NC in '03, and '07???
    SEC Champs in '01, '03, and '07

    Season by season record:

'00 - 8-4, beat Ga Teach in Peach Bowl
'01 - 10-3, SEC Champs, beat Illinois in the Sugar Bowl
'02 - 8-5, Lost to Texas in the Cotton Bowl
'03 - 13-1, SEC Champs, National Champs (also known as Sugar Bowl that yr)
'04 - 9-3, Lost to Iowa in the Citrus Bowl
'05 - 11-2, Lost to UGA in SEC Champ game, destroyed Miami in Peach Bowl
'06 - 11-2, destroyed Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl
'07 - 11-2, SEC Champs so far, and playing for NC

In the last 8 years LSU is 81-22 (.786%), all games included with a 5-2 Bowl Record, and a 3-1 record in the SEC title game, and a 3-0 record in the "Sugar Bowl".

    Pretty impressive!!!!

You look at '04 and the devastating Iowa loss and we're 10-2 instead and another top 6-8 finish.

You look at '02 and if Mauck doesn't get hurt, this team probably competes for the SEC title and a shot at the Sugar Bowl or even the NC.

You look at '00 and we had a couple of losses we should not have had, so possibly a 9-3 or 10-2 record as well.

    Incredible run.

And looking to the future (as far as the SEC W goes) I think there's a chance we can win it next year. I know it's a reach because we are losing so many great seniors ... BUT ....

Ole Miss won't be very good.
    Bama isn't there yet.
R-Kansas should be really young and will lose a lot of talent.
S Carolina is on our schedule and not there yet
Miss St will be better, but are they there yet?
    What about Auburn next year?

I figure we'll go 9-3 next year (L to UF, UGA and Aub?), but could get our 10th win in the bowl game .... or ...

We win a game we shouldn't (instead of losing 1 we shouldn't; i.e. '07 Arky) and go 10-2 and play for SEC championship.

We're on a real nice run, and our coach plans to hang his :miles: in BR for years to come!!!

The SEC West will be decided by the LSU/Auburn game. Should be a dandy.

I think we can come out of there with a win.
