With an on-base percentage like that, he should.

He couldn't unseat Dean at 1st (in most part due to Dean's past). Dean graduates this year so 1st base could be his next year for his senior season. I think this move is a little late for him.

Wow, I wish he would've got more opportunities. Maybe he would've stayed, it isn't like Gaudet has been lighting it up in SEC play.

i think alex edward will push for that spot at 1b. my beef is this: if koeneman couldn't grab any playing time at third base over grant dozar (who has absolutely NO experience there,) then what's his benefit to the team? the kid can hit, that's what his benefit is. the few times he's had a chance to bat, he hits a double or a triple. i hate to bash on the kid, but as inept as grant has been at 3b, i don't think it would have been particularly hard for him win that spot. so why didn't he play? maybe he was in the coach's doghouse? in which case, i'd leave too. he'll be a senior. maybe he gets some sort of medical redshirt since he was "hurt" this season.

i've said it lots of times on here, but LSU's juco transfers have been disappointments this season. out of mormann, bourgeois, watkins and koeneman, watkins was the only one who lived up to expectations -- and he got hurt. those are typically the guys you accept onto your team to replace guys who have been drafted. watkins for jmitch, for instance. bourgeois for coleman.

it's just been that kind of season... :bncry: but, it's a season that will build character. if we can find a capable catcher, i think we'll do OK next season. of course this season still has hope.
