that's what "about" meant. I looked up the numbers and was surprised how close it was. F ing guns. What is it? 5x the lives lost in afg over 10 yrs --EVERY yr from guns. But I suppose either they deserved it or a knife would've gotten them anyway.
Look, my point is that no one comes on here complaining of car deaths every day. So why do we care now? Kus guns are scary. People need nicely worded laws to protect children so they sleep better at night. There are over 260 millions guns in the us compared to around 100 million registered cars. Guns are here to stay and any "control" measures passed will not do anything. So in short. It isn't about "saving" lives at all. Its about feeling better. If we cared about lives we would do many things different in the US.
In the Unitef States ,1700-1800 kids die every year from child abuse or neglect. There should be more outrage over that than a crazy kid with a gun. Random school shootings are bad, but not as bad as a parent or other family member beating or starving a kid to death. We don't need more gun control in the US. And if they want to do more background checks on firearm purchases. Then do background checks on every politician that runs for office also.
In 2008, there were 1.21 million abortions performed with an estimated 1.5% performed late term. Something to think about when folks start talking about protecting children.
And you have to be trained and licensed to drive a registered car with regular renewals to insure that you remain responsible and mentally and physically capable of the operation of a dangerous machine which also must be inspected regularly. I see no reason to consider the 2nd Amendment violated if military weapons require registration and their users require licensing with regular renewals to check on physical, mental, legal or other safety requirements. Law abiding citizens should have no reason to oppose this unless they contemplate becoming a criminal or or are a kook that has paranoid delusions of needing to resist the government of the country.
