Your premise is good and well intended however it won't solve anything either. As I posted in another thread, it isn't the "legal" folks that are doing this. If your average every day American wants to buy a gun you can screen him all the way back to his Kindergarten teacher, put him through all the test, check his credit, find out if he cheats on his wife, beats his kids, makes change in the collection plate at church on Sunday whatever you want to find out. All the while, G- Money down the street with his pants hanging off his ass just blasted some mark ass buster cause he wuz in the wrong hood. How the phuck do you screen for that? As for the ones who have kids that don't have both chop sticks in the chow mein, well I guess those folks probably shouldn't have guns in the house. If they do, they had better make damn sure that loco louie doesn't have access to them otherwise you get Sandy Hook shit all over again.
I don't think it will solve anything either, what I do think is it will at least prevent some people who shouldn't have them from having them. I think this unfortunately is a dilemma with no absolute solution. I also think there should be harsher punishment for those caught with a firearm that shouldn't have one. How bouts mandatory minimum 15 years for anyone caught with a firearm that has a history of violence?
i would like to think that making sure all of my doors are locked with deadbolts, and my home having a burglar alarm would be enough of an effort. but if someone breaks into my home anyway and steals my guns, and uses them in the commission of another crime i am the bad guy, not the criminal who broke into my home or committed other crimes. figures.
It is a tool with an associated risk. I do think that we are built to rely on things, like cars. Still, the gun issue is all jazz. Makes people feel good.
No. Numbers are about the same. Pretty scary when you are comparing one thing with immeasurable value to the economy to one thing that's there mostly for people to cling to. And at least cars are taxed registered inspected and users must pass a safety test.
That's exactly right. The committee of the crime is of the hook. Where the hell did you come up with that one? Been listening to Alex jones again?
Yes. Cars kill more people. It's close, but cars kill more. In a few years cars will kill fewer. Not yet.
