Like. My house got broke into. All they stole was my daughters bantam mossberg 20 ga. If they use her gun to kill someone who should be prosecuted?

 

So the major argument for gun advocates is protection of your home, I get that, I'm good with that. Next for sporting, I get that. What I want to know is this, regarding the tyrannical government and having to turn on our military issue. If we have to go against the American military, we are fucked. Some AR-15's and so called assault rifles ain't gonna matter much. If its protection from that we need stingers, and 50's, and RPG's, and tanks, and drones. What good is an AR-15 against nuclear and bio-weapons, and drones, and apaches, etc etc. I mean I guess it may make you feel better. This is a fat, lazy, overconsuming country. We wouldn't last a month.

 

a gun is made to kill things. a car is not. reasonable assumption that guns are dangerous and cars are not. you need to take real efforts to keep others from getting and/or using your guns. if you dont, you are negligent.

 

Like a gun safe ? Your average gun safe is not impenetrable. A deterrent ,yes. Foolproof ,no. If someone steals your car and runs over somebody, does that make the car owner negligent also?

 

See that's the thing, only assholes are talking about banning guns. But I do think better screening for potential gun owners is a must. It won't stop everything or be a cure all but it will help.

 

Gun bans definitely won't work. Make it worse probably. It's up to gun owners to secure their firearms in a way they see fit. It's also their responsibility to teach the others in the house proper safety and even safe gun handling.

 

I agree, I just think we need to screen better.
