Are you saying Rhymes did a backflip to allude the tag of the catcher and landed on home plate?

This team has only lost 3 games in which the pitching did not hold up. All the other losses due to lack of offensive production. In two of those 3 games, it was simply one bad inning by Nate Fury and one by Ryan Eades. Only the 10-2 loss to MSU was one in which nobody seemed to pitch well. Pretty amazing stuff.

Unless we can't get timely hits, this team is winning it all this year.

I'm looking forward to seeing the video of it, because i was listening to the radio when it happened. They said it wasn't the catcher's fault, because he was just trying to go after the ball, but that Rhymes back-flipped, went head over heels, but got up and was okay. The Ole Miss coach went out there and argued and they were trying to figure out what he could possibly be arguing

That's almost exactly what he did, but he landed about an arm's length short of the plate, when he got to his knees he stretched out to get it. The video's up on lsusports.net now.

Seven current and former members of the LSU baseball squad received their diplomas today in a special graduation ceremony held in the Champion’s Club at Alex Box Stadium (pictured above)

“This is an extremely significant accomplishment for these student-athletes,” said LSU coach Paul Mainieri, who conferred the diplomas. “These are first-class young men who are going make significant impacts upon the lives of others in their chosen fields. Most people don’t realize how difficult it is to excel in athletics while working toward graduation. We are extremely proud of them for their great effort and for the sacrifices they’ve made to earn their degrees.”

The ceremony concluded with an emotional speech delivered by one of the graduates, former infield Matt Fury, who shared a few anecdotes about his fellow graduates and told them he cherished the friendships they had formed.

last night, LSU tied its school record for most SEC victories in a season, matching the 22 wins collected by the 1986 and 1997 squads

last night, LSU, now 47-7 (.870) also tied its school record for most regular-season victories in a season, matching the 1986 team, which won 47 of 59 (.797) regular-season games prior to the NCAA instituting a 56-game maximum in 1992.

“I thought Cody Glenn was the real key to the game,” said LSU coach Paul Mainieri. “He just seems to get better with every outing, and I really admire the way he works his way out of jams. He keeps his composure and makes big pitches at the right time to keep the opponent off the scoreboard.”

“We beat a very good pitcher tonight,” Mainieri said. “Mayers has had a lot of success against us over the years, and we really respect his ability. I liked our approach at the plate – we got off to a great start in the first inning and swung the bats well throughout the game.”
