Yep, the delayed blitz on 4th down that sealed it. Even though the game was practically over, I was still a nervous wreck until the the final seconds ticked off the clock.
I don't think he haunts the program. I think he haunts Miles. That's why Miles so gawd damn afraid of the forward pass.
I was at that game with the band. What a season. Chad Lavalais. That name still makes me remember that absolutely destructive defense we had.
I don't think the throat slash was illegal then. Neither was celebrating. I remember in the NFL in 2005 when Steve Smith and Chad Johnson had a 1-upsmanship TD celebration thing going on. I actually think they need 2 lighten up a little and let athletes have some more fun. Life Is too short, why so serious?
I think celebration should be on the sideline with your team instead of on the field after a play where the celebratory player is basically saying look at me. On the field should be business and about the team, keep the prima donna crap off of the field.
There was a taunting rule of sorts then, too, just not as stupid as what gets called taunting now (Brad Wing, anyone?)
That one, and I think it may have been Jake Locker, very emotional game a few years ago, scored a TD to tie it late in the game and basically just let the ball fall out of his hands and they flagged him for it. Think they may have taken the score off the board as well.
