As far as a win goes, I'm happy with any and all of them. Their situation isn't a good one, but just about anything can be argued as a handicap or used an excuse for a loss, or win, for that matter. As far as a completely different game, who knows? We may feel our missing players as much as they feel theirs. We may be skittish because of playing in Atlanta for the first game of the season as opposed to the second to last game of the season. The only way to know for certain is if we play them again, with all of their players, and all of ours.
All of UNC's problems are self inflicted. They brought it upon themselves. Screw the pundits, analysts, gurus, talking heads. Just give me a W. Would I like to see a convincing (2 TD) win? You bet. But if it's less than 2 TD's and we play well and win I'm a happy Tiger camper.
Ah, a response that isn't so subjective and nauseating. Finally. Someone who isn't a wuss and is willing to admit it's a different team. Not really. I don't put a lot of weight on the first game. However, if LSU struggles badly against the rush, against the pass, running the ball and passing the ball, I'll be worried. If they look inept and barely scrape by, it'll be disappointing, but I won't consider it a loss. If anything, it'll be telling of what is to come. A lot of us could tell by the way we played Washington and Vanderbilt that we were in for a rough season last year. I agree, but my point is that the "talking heads" have some validity to their so-called excuses. It doesn't mean that they should denigrate the win, but to say that this UNC team (that will play tonight without 9 starters and several future NFLers) will give us the same fight is asinine. How many of the same people around here used the argument against Alabama that if McCoy would have played, it would have been a different game. Funny how it's different when it's LSU.
nothing is different because its LSU. just what are you trying to say? if the Tigers win, it's tainted, that somehow you were cheated out of your " i told you so?" you indicate that the talking heads shouldn't denigrate the win but it seems you've tried to do so for a couple of days now. am i wrong?
