I agree, a win is a win. My take on it is they have been blowing people out and they went in against a opponent that they did not respect due to their opponents rocky start. I'm sure the mistakes will be fixed, if not we will never make it to Nov 3rd undefeated.
SEC openers are generally close and AU came to play. We expected to blowout AU, which I can't understand how anybody who follows LSU would expect that as they are always tough games regardless of records(or talent). Our team came in moving the ball and playing descent and it looked like it was going to be a blowout, then we fumbled and got socked in the mouth by their Defense. I think the team was surprised by the fight in AU and had a sloppy game from then on. Hopefully they learned a lesson and will not come in to a game thinking they already won it. We always play to the competition so hopefully as the talent gets better so will we.
I forgot about this game. Alabama should have lost this game. Daniel Lincoln had two key field goals that were blocked... The same year Alabama went on to win the National Championship.
Same NC year down on the plains, Bama was behind 21 to 20 with a little more then 8 minutes left in the 4th, Bama begans "The Drive." 15 plays and 79 yards later Bama throws a three yard pass to Upchurch and we win 26 to 21. The stuff of folklore. Just win baby.
