this is a misleading analysis, or incomplete at best. if $100 million went to build a bridge or school does that not have inherent value? the stimulus isnt just cash going directly to peoples salaries you know.
ok. i wasnt saying it worked well. but it is a misleading/incomplete analysis. many will read that, do the math ($111 mil/55 jobs) and think some politician is taking grift.
No, it was to stimulate the economy, which it did. Contracts were signed, businesses stayed afloat, materials were purchased. People didn't get laid off. Others got hired. Cash flowed into local economies.
The math is bogus too. The report noted that not all of the funds have been spent yet and additional jobs are expected. Of course FOX used the entire amount allocated and only counted the subset of jobs created with the money spent so far. mediamatters.org reports that:
