    FOXNews.com - L.A.: $111M in Stimulus Saved Just 55 Jobs

"I would say maybe in a grade, a B- in creating the jobs," Greuel told Fox News. "They have started to spend those dollars but it took seven months to get some of those contracts out. We think in the city that we should move quickly and not in the same usual bureaucratic ways."

this is a misleading analysis, or incomplete at best. if $100 million went to build a bridge or school does that not have inherent value? the stimulus isnt just cash going directly to peoples salaries you know.

ok. i wasnt saying it worked well.

but it is a misleading/incomplete analysis. many will read that, do the math ($111 mil/55 jobs) and think some politician is taking grift.

No, it was to stimulate the economy, which it did. Contracts were signed, businesses stayed afloat, materials were purchased. People didn't get laid off. Others got hired. Cash flowed into local economies.

    The math is bogus too.

The report noted that not all of the funds have been spent yet and additional jobs are expected. Of course FOX used the entire amount allocated and only counted the subset of jobs created with the money spent so far.

    mediamatters.org reports that:

Nothing to refute. Obama sold the stimulus by promising unemployment would drop below 8%. It didn't.
