Auburn's biggest problem will be with the NCAA next year. The games on next years schedule will be the least of their problems
Another question is even as Cam was the best player in the country, how much of his success was due to the 4-seniors on the OL and having Darvon Adams all gone now. OL loss will hurt more than Cam in some ways. Remember how much less effective Kevin Faulk was his senior year without Alan Faneca. That cost LSU games as will the loss of Auburns OL. Same with Fairly and other seniors on D.
IMO all of LSU's games are manageable. They can beat Clemson and all the OOC opponents. And Auburn is not to hard at all. West Virginia will loose once again. And plus that schedule is not very challenging.
Take off your Auburn glasses for a second. You lost your offense, period. Lost your best player on D, period. Sorry dude, but ya'll will have 3 losses, minimum.
The loss of an experenced offensive line will be hard to recover from for sure. I just went take a look at some au boards. You think we LSU fans are homers you should see what these dudes are saying. I have never seen such in my life. It's crazy to see how great they think they will be next year and how everyone is jealous of them. All the reports about trooper and their recruiting problems with the NCAA are the works of Alabama fans conspiring aginst the righteous auburn nation. Pure fantasy!
I don't disagree with you. In fact, I predict we will have 4 losses next season. My comments were regrading the offense. We led the SEC last season, and will likely drop, but not as much as many folks think. Malzahn's offense is now familiar territory for the current generation of returning players. Trotter will be a much better QB than many will expect. No, he's not the horse that Cam was (who is?) ... but he doesn't need to be dominant to be effective in Malzahn's offense. It really comes down to the OL, and a healthy Michael Dyer. OL is where I anticipate the biggest dropoff, but they should be up to full speed by the end of September, just in time for the meat of the schedule. I predict AU will pass the ball more with Trotter than we ever did with Cam, and particularly so in the first-third of the season. For those that wondered why the recruiting battle for Trovon Reed became so heated .... I predict it will become readily apparent to those that didn't understand it before. I'm predicting Reed will have a monster season provided he is fully healed from his ankle and knee-bruise injuries. There is a lot of buzz about Reed around campus .... he's impressing some old-school all americans, and I'm hearing he's the real deal. Anybody that tries to emulate Josh Reed is okay in my book. Regarding D, Auburn will be weaker on the D-front, but stronger in the LB Corp, Safeties, and significantly stronger in Corners and depth. Can't wait for the season to start :thumb:
