Oh no, Goodell is loving this. It completely made the football world move on from the bullshit call on the Dez Bryant catch and the shitfer brains underlying rule(s) the NFL game is built on.
Well, to be fair, there are logical scenarios that could explain the difference. The Colts equipment manager might check pressure just prior to kickoff and after the balls have been in the cold, hence, they've been acclimated to any temperature change. Meanwhile the Patriots equipment manager conceivably could have inflated balls inside an 80 degree environment many hours prior to the game then taken the balls out into the open air stadium where temperatures could have been 50+ degrees colder. Not that I believe that. I think the Patriots (and any team) will skirt the rules any place where it will give them a competitive advantage. The NFL is to blame here. Instead of having the officiating crew have custody of game balls, they've left it up to the honor system of organizations characterized by steroid infused group think.
no one outside of dallas has thought about that for more than 2 weeks. but it is funny the office has no idea what to do with all this and belicheat has now called their bluff.
he struggled but he got it out. he was as defiant with the media after than id ever seen. he so wants to move on but its too easy for the media to hang onto this. he also referenced spygate for the first time since.
"According to Glazer, the league has reason to believe a Patriots locker room attendant may have taken the footballs from the officials' locker room to a different area on the way to the field. The league has apparently already interviewed the assistant and may have video, though it is still deciphering whether any actual wrongdoing occurred. Still, the assistant is currently a "strong person of interest." Person of interest? Lol. You can't make this shit up.
They dam sure aren't going to do anything until after the Super Bowl. It won't tarnish it AS much learning what happened after the game is played. To have that info before kickoff would be too much of a distraction.
Does anyone really believe that an under inflated football had anything to do with them winning the game?
No, but the Patriots do have a stupidly low fumbling rate, and that trend started in 2007 for no explicable reason. We have to wait to see whether or not that's related to the deflated balls, but it's not out of the realm of possibility. Besides, the important thing is that the Patriot's are going to get punished, and who doesn't want to see that?
