We all love those bone-jarring hits on Saturdays. This article gives you 11 former college players that would lay you out. Do you think they missed an LSU guy? I remember one of our players on the '03 Nat'l Championship team that I feel should be on this list. He's with the Redskins now. An interesting read: College Football's Special Kind of Violence from the Past 50 Years | Bleacher Report
I guess if you didn't come from the west coast, you can't really play football...unless you're from Miami..
chad lavalais was a damn beast as well, i remember against auburn in 03 that dude couldn't be stopped. glen dorsey received more defensive awards than anyone i can think of and he isn't on that list either. i'm guessing someone on california made that list.
It's from bleacherreport- of course it's biased. That's like asking Okie to write an article about the 11 best hitters of collegiate baseball in the last 20 years.
The article doesn't really list the biggest hitters ever. It's more about guys that deserve to be named as big hitters but never received credit. Even though they are mentioned as receiving plenty of print about their hits any list with Lott and Tatum on it isn't a list. I don't care how much praise those two have already received they should be at the top of any list of this type.
It does mention Lott This is a journey into the world of linebackers and the defensive backfield. It is recognized that such talented athletes as Jack Tatum, Dick Butkus, Ted Hendricks, LeRoy Jordan, Mike Singletary, Ronnie Lott, Tommy Casanova, Ray Lewis, and others performed magnificently in these positions. Enough has been written concerning those men, and also a select group of others who can be identified by the casual fan on the street.
One of my favorite signs I saw on Poydras Street before the 04 NC game: "Lavalais, Cajun for 'I'm gonna kick your a$$'"":lol::lol:
