Thought some of you would find this mildly interesting. There's definitely some cool, iconic pics, including one of Ryan Theriot scoring the winning run in the 2000 CWS national championship game against Stanford. I had never seen that particular pic before. Here it is in case you wanted to see it, without looking at all of the other ones. Enjoy.. http://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/more-sports/100-greatest-sports-photos-of-all-time/ss-AAkUZhw?ocid=ientp&parent-title=mchenry-suggests-espn-fired-her-for-being-overly-conservative&parent-ns=ar&parent-content-id=BBDiCel&fullscreen=true#image=1
I saw a black and white picture of Rocky Marciano in a restaurant in Kenner that showed him with his face bleeding and his hands hanging by his sides. One of the all time great pics but I can't find it online anywhere. This is a good one.
Check out the turf in this pic. Crazy. I don't remember the field being this bad while watching the game. I think it was just for this one play, everyone on both sides were dug in due to the enormous situation. It also looks like the dude Randy Cross is trying to block was a nut hair away from sacking Montana. Imagine NFL history being changed was only a millisecond away.
Isn't that the greatness of sports, the key deciding moments,.. the ball pinned against the helmet for the winning catch,.. the SuperBowl saving tackle on the one yard line as time runs out,.. the game deciding goal line interception. And the crushing anti moments,.. Romo fumbling the extra point spot,.. the field goals, "wide right",.. the Cincinnati defender dropping an easy interception, the play before Montana's SuperBowl winning throw. Man I love football,.. sports are about the only true thing.
I searched for a good pic of Warren Morris 1996 CWS walkoff homer vs Miami. A few decent ones but no iconic "this captures the moment" pic. None for Saint's Superbowl win either but this video says it all.
